Best time of the day for a November wedding ?

Kristen, on July 7, 2019 at 12:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
I would love some help picking the best time for our wedding ceremony.

We are getting married at a church which is about 15 minutes away from the reception location. We are hoping to take sunset pictures; the sunsets at 4:15 on our wedding day.

We have our wedding reception for five hours and are serving dinner to our guests.

Thank you you in advance.

If the sun sets at 415 the best time to take sunset pictures will be between 330 and 4. Not sure how long your ceremony will be.

I am getting married in the mountains in late November and the sun will set at 5 in that location. So my ceremony is at 3:00 so we’ll have plenty of light for pictures. We should be done with family photos by 4:30 which will give us some wiggle room. Then the reception is til 8 since it’s a Sunday.

    Thank you (:
I think our ceremony will only be about 30 minutes.

For my November wedding, the sun sets at about quarter to six. We’re doing pictures pre-wedding at 2, with the ceremony at 3. I figure watching the sunset/doing sunset pics will wrap up our reception.

Sunset for daughter's January wedding was around 5 pm. They did first look & wedding party photos from 1:30-2:45, ceremony began at 3:30 and was over by 4. They did family photos, sunset pictures and other wedding party photos between 4-5 (cocktail hour). Guests were seated for dinner beginning at 5 pm, grand entrance at 5:15. Everything was at one venue, so they didn't have to consider travel.

That is a great plan! I wish 5:30 was the sunset time for our wedding as well but it will still turn out great in the end (:

Thank you for the helpful insight. We are considering doing a 3:00 or 3:30 ceremony so we can get done before sunset.
