Troll. Is this the same daughter that just got married and you are hunting down the people who didn't give a gift?

My bad. Just have an outdoor wedding. Plenty of room to dance on the tundra.

^KM, won't that be slippery with all the ice? I'd recommend that they at least rent a dance floor.

Fallinthegarden - I'm sure they deserve to slip and fall if they don't come with a deserving gift.

Wow !! real friendly bunch here thats for sure !! lol What brought me to this site was trying to look for a venue that had a large dance floor.. I live on Long Island, NY.. I just signed on today for the first time, why North Pole came up I have no idea, thought that was kind of funny... It has been corrected. so when I saw the Etiquette forum I THOUGHT posting the question looking for advice regarding my son's wedding 3 weeks might enlighten me! Well it sure did.. But I closed that book, but I am still looking for a venue that would hold approx 300 people with an extra large dance floor. We're going to start looking next week, just thought maybe someone would have some suggestions. thanks ??

By "at least 250", do you mean it'll be minus that family of six or so who you're mad at for skipping out on a gift for your son's wedding?

    Go to the vendor tab.

Go to my friend Apri's website, 'www.churchofancientways.com'. She has been officiating in LI for years, and she knows every place.

But your only other post is about your son's recent wedding where you're missing gifts, and now you've veered from daughter to son.

This is the kind of inquiry I get from fake people in other countries who want to send me giant checks to plan their weddings without even talking to me first. Of course, they then want me to send half of the giant check to their other vendors.....

As in, it doesn't sound legit.

Just wondering, are you inviting the notorious non-gift giving family? Or are they excommunicated?

The vendor tab will help. If you want an extra large dance floor then maybe find a venue that will hold 350 so there extra room for a large dance floor.

@ Celia, my only other post was regarding my son's past wedding because I only joined this community yesterday. My daughter just got engaged this past weekend, so yes, it's been a busy month for me. I will check your friends website though, thank you. I think I might have been to a wedding she officiated last summer, and if it is her, she was amazing.

And @ Kate... because I was asked to and we're giving the wedding if you must know, so that's why I'm involved

If you were in LI, you probably saw April. She's very, very good and a great resource for LI.

@ Nonna, no her name is not Lisa... @kate for my son's wedding we paid for their honeymoon, rehearsal dinner and lot's of extra's. For my daughters, there will be a set amount that we will be able to help them with, probably enough to cover the venue, bridal shower, engagement party and her gown.

Look for a country club, hotel, or a ballroom. They usually have the biggest dance floors. Keep in mind out of those 250 people not all of them will want to dance of stay for dancing.

I mean, you're on Long Island. Hop in your car and go venue touring. It's not like we live in the boonies. Damn near all the wedding venues on Long Island have a large dance floor.
