Best way to display seating chart

Hannah, on August 10, 2017 at 9:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 15

And by seating chart I just mean which table each person will be sitting at. I was planning on just printing out each table with the people listed on a separate pick of card stock with a pretty background and putting them all up on a bulletin board. My florist recommended I do all guests in alphabetical order with the table # next to their name instead. I have 83 guests. What do you think or what did you do? If you have pictures that would be great, too. Thanks for your help.

I don't remember how many people the room was set up for but when I visited my venue there was a wedding that night. They had an easel with a sign with all the names and table number listed but it was so small and hard to read. I want to do cards on a table in alphabetical order for people to pick up rather than crowding around a sign. The room had to be set up for at least over 100 people though.

We're having a seating mirror displayed right when guests get off the elevator outside of the reception space. It will be in alphabetical order. The calligrapher doing our mirror said it's typically easier than listing by table.

From a person who places the seating cards out......make sure they are in alphabetical order. First name and last. I have seen them on a mirror, old window frame......

By tables is easiest for you, by last name is easiest for your guests. Ours will be on a mirror

Alphabetical order- otherwise guests take a long time as they search for their name. The guests at the last table have to read the whole chart, blocking others.

Or, you could do escort cards instead.

Those look nice I think that's what I will do. Now another question, maybe I should add this to my original post... What is a good website to use to custom design one? I used shutterfly for my invites and honestly hated it. I was thinking I could get a design all put together and then print it on a canvas?

The only place I've seen them so far is Etsy. I wish some of the invitation companies would make them, so I could carry the look into the day itself.

Get a template on Etsy, they're cheap. Alphabetical is easier for people to find their names and will reduce a line forming around it. We used the template, printed it huge and put it in a spray painted frame.

    Hello,

I have 120 people coming to the wedding. Some of my guest have groups of 4 how would i write that out in the Alphabetical order without confusing my guest with the numbers of people & table numbers?
