Best way to seal lined envelopes?

Tess, on July 23, 2015 at 8:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

I made my own liners for my envelopes (no inner envelope, just outer) and am stumped about the best way to seal it. If I wet the seal to glue it shut, I worry that most people will just rip along the top and never see the liner. This may be a dumb question, but how are you sealing your lined outer envelopes? We also have our name and return address raised on the back flap of the envelope.

Don't over think it. Lick it and move on. After going through the mail, those envelopes aren't as nice as they were when you mailed them. I printed our addresses on the back where your seal is. I talked to someone and they didn't even notice the address on the back. I am pretty sure people may see the lining but they will be paying more attention to the invite and information on it.

I got those cheap sponges on a stick from Michaels for 99 cents. No way I wanted to lick 60 envelopes. That and a little bit of water and I was done in no time. I had liners in my envelopes too and I'm sure the pretty liner got torn up when they were opened but not much you can do about that.

I think most people would not rip it like a bill, if they see its a wedding invite.

I’m having the same dilemma right now! Haha I’m thinking of just getting round envelope seal stickers, instead of licking the envelope shut. But I’m not sure if that will cause mailing problems... What did you end up doing?
