Best wedding appetizers

mimitrue, on October 20, 2015 at 9:49 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

Ok, thinking back on past weddings you've been to, or your own, what were the best wedding appetizers you had, that you can remember?

Right now we have seasonal fruit on skewers, grilled cheese with tomato bisque shooter and caprese kabobs (mozzarella, basil and tomatoes on kabobs). Im starting to wonder if I should replace one of them with a sort of meat?

I love quiche. Mini quiches tend to work out well too since they're small enough for one or two bites so are easily passed, and they're light enough to still leave room for dinner. I've also been to a wedding that did a caprese salad bite. It was essentially a little ball of mozzarella, a mini tomato and basil leaf drizzled in oil with salt and pepper. They were really lite and tasty.

We were able to choose 3 appetizers from a huge list. We chose crab cakes because it's sort of regional and I thought our out of town guests would like the touch. We chose a chicken thing to appeal to the masses, and we chose brie stuffed strawberries for vegetarians.

My venue has these fried risotto balls that are amazing. That or chicken satay skewers, I always like that.

Some of what you can choose will depend on whether your venue makes their own hors d'oeuvres or buys them frozen.

The best have been mini beef wellington, bacon wrapped dates, and spring rolls.

I was just at a wedding and they had these seasoned pretzels, kinda sweet that were to die for. They also had this cheese, some kind of oregano or something on it but wow, it was fantastic.
