Best weightloss plans to lose weight before wedding

Miya, on February 14, 2017 at 9:42 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 28

Hello lovelies! So I'm in a little predicament. My wedding is planned to be the end of June this year but I really want to be 180 pounds by April so I can try on dresses etc. I weigh 200 now. Is there a plan that really works to lose 20 pounds in 2 months? I really don't want to fail my fiancé and have to reschedule our wedding because of my weight issue. I really need help. Any tips would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Wow your wedding is this June and you're looking for dresses in April? If you're buying off the rack this should be fine but if you need to order + get alterations this is very late. Try to cut carbs for a few weeks (south beach diet) it always works for me and also up the cardio.

Your fiance shouldn't have any issues with your weight. If you stress yourself out you'll probably have a harder time losing.

There isn't a healthy quick fix. Weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. Do 20 mins of cardio 5 days a week or 40 mins 3 days a week. Try a 1500 calorie diet - low sugar, only good carbs, healthy fats.

I ordered my dress in September for my June wedding....

Hopefully you're getting it off the rack.

Eat right, drink lots of water. FH and I use the app LoseIt...He's lost 30lbs and I've lost almost 20, we've been going since the end of October but you can set the pace that you want to lose weight!

YouTube has lots of great work out videos. Drink lots of water. Watching calories is awesome too. Also join a weight loss group on Facebook or start one of your own.

Running is the best form of exercise since it works the whole body. P90x is also a really good workout

If you would postpone your wedding because of your weight, there are bigger problems that need to be addressed.

    Good luck.

Eat less, move more and lift weights. What we put in our mouths is what matters most.

Twenty probably isn't realistic, but it seems you have larger issues.

It made me sad that you said you don't want to let your fiancé down by not losing weight and cancelling the wedding. Take this from someone who had a major meltdown over feeling insecure yesterday: I hope you know that you are beautiful as you are. You don't need to be thin to get married. You don't have to be 180 lbs to buy a dress. You just have to be a woman in love Smiley smile

Working out and stuff can be hard. I started by just walking a lot during the day and stuff but my main problem was food. My grandma found a 5 day nutrisystem box at the grocery store and I did that, and already dropped weight. It's helped me make better food choices which is what I needed.

Try cutting down on sodium, you may be able to lose quite a bit of water weight quick so you can at least start shopping sooner. Also, cut out processed food (cutting sodium will probably make you do this anyways). Then, practice portion control and exercise and you should be in a pretty good place to lose weight.

The DASH diet is one of the best diets out there, it's a medical diet mostly for heart patients but it basically just outlines healthy eating. Also, I'm a dietitian technician with a degree in nutrition so I know what I'm talking about, I promise!!!

Your fiancé should love you for who you are and not your size, if you want to lose weight do it for yourself.

First and foremost, I'm going to echo what these other ladies are saying: loving yourself, and knowing that your fiance loves you as you are, is the most important. He's marrying you because you are you! Not because (or in spite) of your weight. Not because of what you **could** be. Because of who you are! Weight loss is hard enough as it is without having to fight your own demons to do it. So please don't feel like you have to look or weigh a certain amount to get married. Plus, it's 2017 and plus-sized dresses are common and beautiful! If you know where to look, you shouldn't have any trouble finding dresses your size. It just might take some cleverness (Also, hit up bridal consignments. My #1 tip to get a dress fast).

As far as losing weight, calorie counting is very helpful. Most people can't do it forever, but it's an awesome too to calibrate yourself as to what you're actually eating and what a portion size is supposed to be, and it forces you to hold yourself accountable. Drink water. Eat whole foods (baked chicken breast vs. chicken nuggets, an apple vs store bought applesauce, homemade meals vs. take out). Also, start walking every day. Maybe do 20 minutes, work up to 30 or 40, and then see if you can jog short distances. Running is probably the best exercise there is.

Still, try to keep and mind what we've said. Your physical and emotional health is what's most important, not numbers on a scale or a wedding dress.

Does he want you to lose weight? Is that why you are afraid to fail him? I'm a little confused as to why you would cancel your wedding because you didn't reach the goal weight .

Why would not losing weight fail your fiancé? He should love you no matter what your weight is Smiley smile

To answer your question though: It's a bit extreme in changing eating habits, but I've had amazing results by going vegan and cutting out all refined sugar from my diet. Ohsheglows.com has some fantastic recipes and ideas. If you do decide to go this route, make absolutely sure you're getting your required daily nutrients though. It definitely takes work and planning, but I've enjoyed the transition to a healthier diet. Smiley smile

    Agree with @TimeLadyErika.

I think that needs to be your focus - not a short term weight loss.

Don't listen to @jodi. It's not safe to lose weight that quickly.
