Best & Worst wedding favors?

T2018, on October 16, 2017 at 11:21 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 55

What have been the best and worst wedding favors you've received from a wedding? I really don't wanna waste $$ on something guests are going to leave at the table or toss the second they get home!

Oh man do I have a story! My FMIL gets facials all the time and she was telling me the lady who does her facials were talking about me and FH's wedding so the lady then tells my FMIL she received a wedding gift that no one could EVER top as the worst gift ever...... this lady's FFIL got her and her husband grave plots! ...I mean freaking GRAVE PLOTS? that's morbid to say the least.

Best favor: I don't think one even exists. I'd rather have more hors d'oeuvres.

Worst : 1. Jordan almonds. The bride was so excited to hand them out. She had put them in jars with a ribbon and personalized sticker. No one in my family likes them, so they were fed to the squirrels. 2. bags for running shoes: pastel colored (pretty feminine), and personalized with the bride and grooms names and dates. The couple are runners; I don't know how many of the guests were? Went into the trash, in our hotel room. At both the weddings in my "worst" example guest hosting was minimal and we had to stop for food, on the way home.

Anything edible is good. This answer kind of depends on your guests though. We are doing koozies as our favors, and I know people will take them and use them since they are very popular around my area and friend group.

Best favor I've gotten was little sample size bottles of fancy, flavored olive oils. We used them at home until they were bone dry!

Best: Anything edible (my favorite was a custom made ice-cream sandwich from a food truck)

Worst: stationary with the couple's name and wedding date on it.

I don't even remember the non-edible favors I've received as they were either unnecessary or just not as interesting.

@Catlady omg a pretzel man? I think that tops all the favors I've ever gotten. And YUCK I'm not wasting precious space on my tree for that! I don't get why couples do favors with their names on them!

Favors really are not necessary IMO but if you do them, do candy or a snack that will actually be consumed. We didn't do "favors" but we did custom koozies and encouraged guests to take a few home (there were still a ton left over).

Best- Jars of local honey, I love honey and use it often.

Worst - Little heart shaped bottles of bubbles. There were no kids at the wedding and they didn't do an exit where they wanted people to blow bubbles as they left.

Best: mini jar of jam. There were different kinds and so I stole a bunch of them when other guest left them behind. They were really yummy!!

Best: I would say dog treats to take home to people's pets

Worst: a wax pear that said "John and Jane, a perfect pear" Like wtf do I do with that.

Do something edible or nothing at all!

MAYBE koozies at the bar (if they are a thing in your circle, otherwise skip and save the &dollarSmiley winking

we did koozies at the bar because everyone in our circle does them- id say 75% got taken. and at the end as people we lining up for the sparkler sendoff- we had warm cookies pre bagged for them as a late night snack. All of those were gone.

Favorite of all time--friends of ours had a waffle house food truck as a late night snack as people were leaving. it was great drunk food. If something like that had been in our budget- id absolutely have gone that route!

I just remembered I went to a wedding that had a spice jar for pork chops. It was so good!

@Dreamer my FH is one of the only people I have ever met that LOVES jordan almonds. I am Italian and pretty much every family wedding I have been does those as favors but I refuse because I think they are disgusting.
