What is the best and worst bridesmaid gifts you have received in the past. I have never been a bridesmaid and I'm seriously lost looking for gifts for my girls. I need some inspiration and some words of caution. Thanks!

I've gotten really nice personalized things like cute socks with pandas (I've been to China), candle, nice bracelet to wear for the wedding, bath bombs, and so many other pamper things I forgot what all was in there...and another wedding I got a similar package, all pamper type stuff like lotion, loufa, shower gel, etc. and I think a gift card?

I'm getting mine personalized bath bombs (like one called "What kids" that smells like wine Lol), robes with dinosaurs on them (way more fun than "Bridesmaid"), a necklace to wear for the wedding, booze-flavored lip balm (like gin & tonic, etc), a makeup bag, and a cool real loufa sponge slice dipped in peppermint foot soap.

I haven't actually gotten a gift in the past for being a bridesmaid, but I will say I am enjoying this post. This definitely helps with deciding what I will be getting my ladies! So far I have yetis that will be personalized with their names and Posh bath bombs.

I got my girls a tumbler with name and wedding party title on it, koozies, candles, plug ins, wine with custom made labels, and my MOH gets a custom framed poem all in tote bags with their initials or names on it. I will see what they say Saturday when I have dinner with my girls. ??

I personally dont mind the bm items but im the odd ball here. i only been a bm once before until now and i got a bracelet and a wristlet both were ok but not really my style. i gave my vms tea. both bombs. tumblers with just their names. bath pillow and a overnight bag with their first name on them. i have seen 3/4 use the bags for their travels or work.

I'm planning on getting my girls robes, Kate Spade 'bridesmaid' tumbler and Sephora gift cards...but with everyone hating on items labeled 'bridesmaid' I'm having second thoughts...

No advice since none of my friends have gotten married, but this thread was so helpful for me!

Best: at a destination wedding the bride & groom paid for one night for all of us (ended up being around $250.00 per person)

Worst : A Flask, I never use flasks.

I'm personally NOT a fan of monograms or my name on gifts. But that is a personal preference. And definitely no "gift" with Bridesmaid on it.

Best was a cute floral robe WITH POCKETS(!!!) and a port authority bag.

Just do not get the gifts that say bridesmaid on them. Really? NO.

A massage, gift card to a salon...that would be nice.

Best: 1 bride gave me a silver necklace/earring set that was very pretty and I still wear periodically; another bride gave me a Tiffany heart necklace that I adore.

Worst: this didn't happen to me, but a friend. The bride gave her a huge crucifix and my friend is not even religious.

I got my girls each a bottle of Chanel Chance Tendre perfume, they all love her scents and it's the scent I am wearing that day. I didn't want to give them something they would never use again. I have always hated getting the "Bridesmaid" themed stuff. My sister gave us nice monogrammed lands end totes when she got married 14 years ago and I still use mine all the time!

The best was one of my friends did small duffle bags for us with our names on them (it's the perfect size for a weekend getaway and I use it all the time. She all wanted us to change into gold flats for the reception, so that was part of it. Everything else she did was something personal for each of us. I drink Diet Coke like it's my job and this wedding was when Coke started their share a coke with campaign for all the names. Deirdre is not a common name, so I've never found my name on a Diet Coke. She printed up labels and made me a 12-pack of Share a Diet Coke with Deirdre's. It's a little thing, but such an awesome gesture of her really knowing me and getting me something that would really make me happy. I also got an Anchor Man beer glass. The other girls got something small and personal (like my Diet Coke) and a different glass that related to their interests.

The worst was our "gift" was that the bride paid for our hair and make up to be done (I think the total for both with her vendor was $350, so if she didn't pay for us, I wouldn't have gotten it done) and a necklace with the longitude and latitude coordinates of her wedding. She didn't want us to wear the necklaces at her wedding, so I can say it's been over 2 years and I've never worn the necklace. I just don't have a sentimental attachment to her wedding venue like she does (even though we are good friends and I was in the wedding), and wearing a necklace with location coordinates to someone else's wedding is just a little weird to me.

Morale of the story, these gifts should be about them, not you. If you want to throw in something you want them to wear for the wedding (jewelry, shoes, robes to get ready in, etc), I think that's fine, just make sure you are also including elements of the gift that are personal to them or things they'd really like and use. They don't care about your wedding as much as you do, so make sure the gift isn't just about the day, but something they can have and use for a while that reminds them fondly of your day.

Free Victoria secret fuzzy socks... that you get when you spend a certain amount and a perfume from bath and body works that I hated the scent.

I've only been a bridesmaid once. That was my worst, I'm

Planning on something else for my girls

Got my sister (maid of honor) a Apple Watch and three pairs of shoes, my other sister who is a bridesmaid I got her a pair of Tory Burch sandals with matching wallet, and my two girlfriends who are also bridesmaids kate spade wallets. I also purchased bridesmaid Alex and Ani bracelets (one for flower girl too) with their initials on them. On top of that I also purchased robes for us to wear the day of my wedding next Thursday. I went all out for my girls as they have gone above and beyond for me for my shower and bachelorette events. Each gift was personalized to each of their style and personalities. Gifts are completely your choice and I am sure they will love whatever you purchase.

    These are all very helpful!

I was in one wedding and did not receive a gift. Although she paid for the make up to be done and that was it.

    I don't really have a worst, honestly!

Best was my sister-in-law who gave all of her "sisters" (who were the whole bridal party) a small sterling silver necklace with a heart on it and a really sweet letter attached about what it meant to be sisters. It was really touching and everytime I wear my necklace I think of her and of that day!
