Beverage Planning!

Ryley, on February 8, 2021 at 3:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hello! I’m planning my rescheduled wedding for September 2021. We are doing a Sunday afternoon wedding with brunch type foods. We’re doing a cash bar for alcohol along with a coffee bar and water and lemonade.

My question is how much of each beverage do I need? We have about 170 guests on our invite list (assuming covid restrictions are lifted). How much coffee/lemonade/water should I plan for? And how much milk/cream things for the coffee bar?

Do you have someone catering your beverages or are you doing it yourself? Normally, caterers will just need a head count and they will bring what they think you'll need! But if you are doing it yourself, I would suggest planning for everyone to have at least a few drinks (given it's September and probably going to be pretty warm)! And since it's a cash bar, people won't be as likely to line up at the bar for those drinks!

I've been going off of this chart for my wedding planning. Hope this helps!

Usually the venue provides these items at $3 a person with unlimited refills- that’s standard

What does the caterer suggest per person? I would do that.

I'd leave that up to your catering staff to figure out. Any caterer will know exactly what to do. As for the cash bar, be prepared for an array of responses here...they are largely considered a no-no on this forum.
