Big Wedding?

Kaitlyn, on July 25, 2019 at 3:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

Is 70 people a lot for a wedding? I was talking with some coworkers (all female, all older and have done weddings for their kids), and one of them said 70 was a lot when I said that it was a small wedding to me. Is that a lot? Usually weddings that I've been to have been like 150+, so 70 isn't a lot to me.

How big is your wedding?

I thought mine was small based on the ones ive been to and in my culture in general usually people have far larger amounts. I had 250 people and people all told me that's huge aha. I think 70 is still a good amount because it still warrants for planning an event

I probably wouldn't call 70 "small" but it's definitely not a huge wedding.

Most in my crowd have about 150! So my 40 person wedding was small lol

My friend who just got married had 70 family members on the brides side, and then everyone else. I think they had close to 200 people and I thought that was a normal size wedding to have.

We are inviting 340 people. I think most weddings I've been to are 100-150.. but I never asked the question "how many people were there" at a wedding so my count could be off lol!

I've decided less than 30 is tiny, less than 100 is small, 100-200 average, 200-400 is big and 400+ is huge!

I would say 70 is on the small side. Not "small" per se, but definitely smaller. Most weddings in my area are about 150-250.

Mine will be around 150, so I don't think 70 is a lot compared to that! I also wouldn't say it is small. Sounds like a medium size wedding to me.

Honestly, 70 would be really small for me. If you prefer that size, that's totally fine though! I'm inviting 50 of my friends (plus some +1s) alone. We're sending out 200 invitations, but we're hoping only 175-200 show up (each of my brother's weddings had over 300 people attend but my venue is smaller).

I would say 70 is small compared to the average 100-125 that most brides have.

We have 203 invites going out, but I wouldn't consider 70 necessarily a small number either.. honestly, its what I would have preferred!

I would consider 70 to be on the lower side of average. Definitely not small.

Personally I would say 70 is on the small-ish side. We invited 250 and are projecting tp have 200-215 people actually show up. So far 178 have RSVP'd and they have until Aug 2 to do so!

I had a wedding with 71 people. I think it's on the smaller side. Honestly, it was perfect. I'm so glad we didn't have more guests! We invited about 88 I think hoping for 75. We certainly didn't invite all family or friends. Our venue had a limit of 75, so we couldn't.

I wish my wedding had 70 people! I don’t consider that small, but also not huge either. The ones I’ve attended are usually around 150. I wanted to stay at that number yet FH brought the list to 230 😑🙄

I have 65 and it's considered small. Medium starts around 75 imo so I think you're in-between sizes. Definitely not large

70 is definitely on the smaller side. I'm having a wedding of 65 and I consider it small. It obviously requires more planning then a 20 person wedding but it is way simpler than a 200 person wedding.

We had 15 but I wouldn’t say 70 is big. I would think 50-150 seems average.

    70 isn't a lot. I'd say 100+ is a bigger wedding.
