Bill Levkoff in Oasis? Pictures please!! :)

Nichole, on November 4, 2015 at 9:41 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

Hi everyone. I'm having such a hard time picking the colour of my bridesmaids dresses. We really like the styles that Bill Levkoff carries but they don't have a dark teal which is what I was originally going to go for. I think Oasis is the next best thing but the website pictures make it look so much brighter than the colour swatch I've seen at my bridal store... I'd love it if I can see some pictures of actual bridesmaids wearing this coloured dress. Does anyone have any that they can share? Thanks so much!!

Hi Nichole, welcome to WeddingWire! Please upload a main image when you get a chance (instead of the default double rings) so that we can get to know you! (Also the double rings can be associated with spam/trolls)

That's a very specific dress, so it might hard to find other brides who have used the same designer and color. I would go with the swatch that they showed you over the pictures on their website - those pictures are very "styled" and aren't the same lighting/background you will have on your wedding day!

Computer resolutions are not the most accurate. I would go off the color swatch or see if there is another salon with the dress in that color sample.

eta: My BM dresses were Bill L. in Horizon.

Yeah, I want my girls to pick out their own dress within a set of guidelines (fabric, length, color) and I thought it would be perfectly fine to just give them a swatch and have them get something as close as possible, but I was in a bridal store yesterday looking at BM dresses and there are SO many variants of color that I'm nervous. I decided I will give them the color and designer and have them pick within that. I'm going with Bill L. in Horizon and Watters & Watters in Emerald. You should go into a store and look at the colors in person. Don't go off the comp screen. I thought David's Bridal's Horizon would be good, but it's too dark for what I'm going for.

I don't have the same dresses but here is a pic of my dress and color online and the photographer pics. They are different. The swatch I got was very close to the actual dress color. Bill Levkoff dresses are made after you order and are great quality! I also was going to go with "Apple" from another designed but these dresses were better quality. I took one of the dresses when I got in and went to Men's Warehouse to ensure the red vests we picked matched the dress color, since men's warehouse matches David's but doesn't guarantee anyone else. it matched perfectly, but we could change vest color up to two months out if it didn't match the dress. SO we just selected the closest when we did tux fittings to ensure our reservation.

Thanks for your comments and advice everyone. I will just have to base my decision off of the colour swatch as they don't have any dresses in the bridal store in that colour. I agree about the computer screens. Here are two photos of the dresses. The one is just the colour generated on the Bill Levkoff website and the other is some ladies wearing the dresses in the same colour. These actually look pretty similar... but again in the store it looks a lot darker (which I like) but I guess it can just really depend on indoor and outdoor lighting.

Here's hoping it works out Smiley smile They do seem like really good quality dresses!

@Nichole - Welcome to WeddingWire! Smiley smile

I just wore a Levkoff dress in a wedding this summer. I definitely suggest having your bridesmaids try on a dress before ordering! A few of the girls found that the sizing of those dresses is off - even by wedding clothes vs street clothes standards. I was able to order my b-maid dress cheaper online, but I went into a salon to try on some dresses first to be sure I knew what to get!

Nichole, the color swatch was much darker than the actual dress, in my case. I agree with WW Christina. The dresses run small. Im usually a 4-6 and I had to order a 10. All in all, the dress came out better in person.
