"Oopsie Baby"... that's such an awful way to phrase it. That just makes me cringe. Smiley atonished My son wasn't a planned pregnancy, but i'd never call him an oopsie baby..

As PP have said, go to the doctor. Discuss your options. Every reacts differently to birth control, uses different things. It's not a one size fits all. I had the mirena and had a horrible reaction to it, but many women have it and love it. It's all what you and your DOCTOR decide. We're not using anything, except condoms. I was just told I may need a hysterectomy in the next year, so we're thinking of TTC now. So, i'm not going on birth control at the moment.

See a gynecologist ASAP. They would be the one you want to ask this kind of question to and you should start getting regular exams now anyway.

For the love of all that is holy, do not get an IUD right before your wedding. I got crazy emotional and teary, infection after infection (the kind that make you feel ridiculously unsexy and not want your hubby anywhere near you), and my periods went from being light 3 days to heavy and constant 10 days. Just go on the pill and use a condom.

I am on the pill and we use condoms.

So far I have not had any issues with the pill, but everyone is different. I know before I started I had awful cramps, like I would have to call out of work because I felt so sick and was in so much pain. I would lose sleep over the pain too. Now that I am on the pill, I still have pain but I can tolerate it and function through the day. I just take some midol and go about my day. I just wish it would regulate my period. It never has been before and after!

Just make sure that you will take it everyday. I am really good about it because I have a couple other pills I take for allergies every morning so it makes it easy for me to remember to take it everyday.

I have it too & I love it. It's one of the only bc that doesn't effect your hormones & get you all wild. I'm on my second year with it.

I will be using the IUD. Love it and haven't had any problems with it - and it's good for 5 years.

The nightmares people hear are probably from people whose bodies rejected it, but that's a risk with any birth control. I had the shot and it worked for a year but then my body grew a tolerance to it and began to give me issues so I switched to the IUD instead.

I would do research on all forms of birth control, though to find which one is best for you!

I agree with this one. Not to mention the fact that I cramped SO badly for a good week. Totally normal side effect, but I can't imagine feeling like that on my wedding day!

I personally wouldn’t rely the withdrawal method if you guys aren’t experienced. Also, it has a pretty low success rate relative to other forms of birth control. Some people do have bad reactions to hormonal birth control, but some people like me have no reaction at all, aside from no pregnancy and no period! There’s no harm in using condoms with your new husband for the first couple months until you decide which birth control is best for you. I’d definitely give yourself a couple weeks to see how you react to it.

Why would it change for a honeymoon as opposed to normal day-to-day life? Just wondering!

Yeah being 4 months out you need to go see a dr ASAP. What works for other people may not be an option for you and you need time to adjust.

I can’t get an iud and the implant, while effective, made me miserable between 10 day long heavy periods, horrible acne and terrible mood swings.

    go see a dr

In addition to what everyone else has said, another option is NuvaRing. (Its a ring that you insert into your vagina once every three weeks) I've been on it for 10 years and love it. Like every other method, it doesn't work for everyone. I love not taking a pill every day. I didn't gain any weight b/c of it, and it didn't give me any crazy hormonal reactions. I've had friends on just about every method discussed above, and start by going to a doctor, give a method 3-4 months and if its not working for you switch. I recommend starting with BC oral pills or the Ring b/c I personally think they are the least "scary." There are lots of different formulas, and you can switch easily b/w them. I've heard amazingly positive things and very negative things about every method, so talk to doctor, pick one, and figure out what works for you. Also do your research about various methods b/c doctors don't always know all the most recent info about the newest BC methods.

I'm on the Pill and we recently quit using condoms. We'll keep using the Pill on our honeymoon and for at least a year or two after that (I want more, he wants less).

If you're marrying in October and you don't need birth control until then, it's not to early to get it squared away, especially if you are going to do an IUD or something hormonal, so you have time to get used to it and address any problems. This isn't something to put off until the last minute, especially since the hormones can effect your mood, your cycle (AF on wedding day, nooo!) and even your skin.

I'm on the pill myself right now, but I've been on it since I was a teenager to help with cramps and acne. Whatever you do, I'd recommend going to the doctor now. You have a bit of time to make adjustments if you have a reaction to whatever option is suggested and get it in your system. Do some reading about the different options too before you go, so you have an idea.

I absolutely second the nuvaring! I've been using mine for the past 4 years, no side affects, mild period, barely-there cramps. Only downside anyone has identified is how personal you get with yourself while inserting, but honestly, if that's the price of no-baby, then I'm good!

    Good luck!

Go see your doctor and discuss your options. Whatever you decide, I suggest you start sooner rather than later because sometimes the hormones in birth control might not sit well with your system and you want to get that figured out before your big day.
