Birth control pill

Aneesa, on April 3, 2018 at 10:22 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 27
How long did it take you to start experiencing the side effects (nausia, headache, spotting ect. ) of the birth control pill when you first started it? I am on day 3 and so far have no side effects.

Never. It'll be 10 years this summer I've been on the pill and I've never had adverse effects. It's saved me from the awful side effects of my periods I used to have though. Not everyone has bad effects from the pill, and if you do, talk to your doctor.

Only side effect I experience is spotting, usually the first few days of the 2nd week after finishing sugar pills.

I did experience mood changes when going from sugar back to active pills originally. I find it helps for me to take active pills 3 packs straight (no sugar pills between), then take a week of sugar pills. It's also better to for bone health to do that.

ETA: I've been on the pill 3 years. Spotting is very light. Mood changes are due to my hormones readjusting.

You may not have any of these side effects. It's different for every person.

I've never had side effects. If anything it dramatically minimized my side effects from my period I use to get.

I have been on the pill for over 3 years and have never had any side effects. The only issue I had was when I went straight to a new pack once because I was going on vacation and didn't want my cycle. All that happened though was breakthrough bleeding. It varies by person and also the type of pill you are using. I use Sprintec.

I’ve been on the pill for about 9 years now (seems weird that it’s been that long- I started it back in 8th grade) and I’ve never had any issues with side effects. For me, it seems every year or so my period comes a day later, meaning a shorter period- my periods were close to 10-12 days before and now it’s 2-3. I used to have horrible periods and acne and the pill has made them so much better. I get really nervous whenever FH and I talk about me going off them in a couple years because I am scared my periods will go back to what they used to be. Talk to your doctor if you have side effects and they should be able to find you a different pill that works better for you.

Right away. I become anemic, and pass out when I take bc because I get more than breakthrough bleeding, it gets bad for me. It makes me very depressed, like sobbing crying jags over nothing. I've tried so many different pills and shots, and all the same effects for me.

Hi the first birth control I got was lo lestrin and I was on it for 3 months I got a free 3 month suppy from my doctor because I had just given birth so during those 3 months I felt bloated mostly than I had to switch to the generic brand bc the lo lestrin was way to much money and my insurance wouldn’t cover it so I’m on Junel the lowest dosage now I’ve been on it for a year and 2 months and I skip my period every month I do get cramping and pelvic pain and I also feel like throwing up it happens randomly , those side effect started happening about 3 months ago and I’ve been on it for over a year so various with everyone you might not have any side effects at all it might come and go and never come back it all depends on your body

I've always been on the pill and it wasn't until I changed pills that about a week later I started getting dizzy and not feeling myself/having depressive episodes. 2 months in and the symptoms are almost completely gone but this is my first time ever having symptoms on the pill, so you may not.

Everyone is different, but for me, I started experiencing symptoms after a week. It was just mood changes, headaches and nausea. I'm on my 2nd month now and I've been bleeding for almost 2 weeks straight... No weight gain like most people get, I've actually lost a few pounds from feeling nausea... Hope this helps! (Also hoping my bleeding stops soon!)

Everyone reacts differently so hard to say. I'm very sensitive to everything so I haven't been on the pill for two years now and I feel a million times healthier!!! before I would get migraines and headaches all the time and would feel flu like pretty often no matter what type of birth control they put me on.

So the first time I was on the pill (from 15-22), I didn’t experience any symptoms. The second time (after my first baby 25-29), I also didn’t experience any symptoms. The third time (at 29 after my second baby), I experienced nausea, breakthrough bleeding and severe depression. Came off them 5 months later and have had none of these issues since.

5 or 6 years. It was strange. I was on them for so long with no problems and suddenly started feeling gross and had to get off them a few years ago.

If you haven’t experienced any side effects by now the chances that you will are slim.

Just like all medications, everyone will react differently. My bc pills made me nauseous immediately and kept me that way for years (Dr was a quack and told me its normal). Finally another Dr said the nausea wasn't supposed to be permanent and prescibed me a different pill. I hated this pill. It changed my personality entirely where I was angry with FH all the time for literally no reason.

A 3rd dr realized pills aren't the way to go for me so now I'm on the nuva ring. I really like it. I have to take it out for intimacy which is inconvenient but I don't get sick and I'm back to normal so it's not a bad deal. The one thing I don't like is it made me gain a little pooch and that irritates the crud out of me because I love working out and looking good and this stupid pooch tells a different story than my efforts. But I guess it's better than being sick or angry all the time
