Black and White wedding! help with tablescapes.

TheTindles, on May 14, 2020 at 10:18 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

Our wedding colors are Black and White and I am not sure whether I want to use White Tablecloths with Black Runners or Black Tablecloths with White Runners...for all the Brides who had Black and White weddings which did you have? Can I see your photos?

My colors were red and gold and I considered doing ivory tablecloths with red table runners but I decided on all red and it looked stunning. At my moh’s wedding she did all black tablecloths no runners and it also looked stunning. I get so bored with white tablecloths, I think the colored ones really set off the room.

What type of centerpieces will you have? Day or night wedding? Semi-formal or formal.

I think it depends on your venue and the overall mood. If it's an outdoor, nighttime wedding, the white will pop, but in a well-lit ballroom with white/ivory walls the black will look elegant and stunning. Maybe give us more info on your venue or look at Pinterest specifically for pictures of venues similar to yours? Good luck!

I think using black as the accent color would be better

I find black on top too much darkness, unless the black runners or toppers are either of lace, or have sparkly silver threads interwoven. Otherwise, lots of black on the table is just black holes, a specially in photos. Actually, I should qualify that. I like black lace fabric toppers or runners, or black leno or cutwork that is not lace, but allows some white to show through where the black is cut away. A pattern in 2 contrasting colors. The textures from pattern are nice against dishes and cutlery.Black and White wedding! help with tablescapes. 3
