Black lanterns or gold??

Dani, on June 11, 2018 at 12:11 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16
Hello! I am trying to decide what to use for my centerpieces for my wedding. My wedding colors are dusty rose, burgundy, gold & navy. The guys will be in navy suits, but our venue is in a barn and has black pillars. We are doing some lanterns on the table for center pieces. Our chargers, forks, knives & chairs are gold. Table cloths are white. Do I use gold lanterns to continue the theme ? Or black to incorporate the black from the venue ? I can’t decide!!!

I would use gold. Far more formal than black and since you are already using several gold items, your table will look cohesive.

I don't think it would clash. Black goes with everything Smiley smile

Eh, black doesn’t go with navy blue. I would go with the gold!

I have a very similar color scheme and centerpiece plan! I ordered white lanterns from Ikea ($8 each) and I am spray painting them gold & then I found cheap tall glass vases ($10 each) from walmart of all places and I am spray painting them gold as well!

I am team Gold - I don't believe in navy and black working together.

I can’t change the pillars in the barn. Should I change tuxes to black? Or are the pillars being black no big deal?

Do I just ignore the black pillars in the barn? And continue to do navy tuxes?

Black is a neutral and goes with everything. Many designers say that every room should have some black to ground the space. Black and navy is a very chic combination. Choose what you like.
