Blonde or Brunette?

Ashley, on February 16, 2018 at 1:45 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23

Hey Everyone! I need some hair advice and was hoping to get some help....

My hair has been various shades of blonde for most of my life (I started getting highlights at 13). I've experimented with shades of brown and red sporadically but I typically end up back to blonde. About 6 months ago, I got fed up with the upkeep necessary for blonde and dyed my hair darker (semi-permanent).

I recently got engaged and will be getting married in the fall. Now I am unsure whether to go back to blonde - or to keep it dark.

I also am not sure whether to keep it long or cut it short. I typically do an asymmetrical bob in summer.

Not the best pictures, I am not a fan of getting my picture taken. Thoughts?

I think blonde compliments your features better. Also, if you keep it long you'll have more options for hairstyles when it comes to your wedding day.

I'd keep it long, but I also like both colors on you. Is there one color you feel the absolute best in? Or would like to remember years down the line? I'd go with that color.

Both are gorgeous on you, but I know what you mean. I went a dark Auburn hair color for about a year and loved it (and got compliments), but after a while it just didn't feel like "me." I'm a natural blonde, so I ended up going back to blonde.

Does either color feel more like "you"? Do you look in the mirror and wonder who that person is? For me that's what it came down to.

As for length, stay long for now so you have more options for your wedding. Many of us do the post-wedding chop; in fact, I've just been thinking that this week! I'm so ready to cut several inches off my hair now that my wedding is over!

I'd keep it longer since it will be easier to work with on your wedding day (if you choose an updo). I think both colors suit you but, I prefer the blonde.

I think the brunette is stunning on you! I agree with pp that longer will give you more options for styling.

Personally I love the long dark hair. It really highlights your eyes and facial features!

I went blonde recently for the first time and loved it! I tend to cut my hair short in the winter and keep it long for the summer, which makes no sense other than I get fed up with my hair and chop it off when I feel like it. Typically I recommend Short hair for the summer, long for the winter. Also I would say blonde for the summer and dark for the winter. Because your wedding is in fall, I would say long and brown, except that you say you have been blonde since 13, so that is what people would be familiar with!

I say long and blonde. Blonde because you're known for it, long because of season and because hairdressers can do more with more hair. Hope my advice helps! Smiley heart

My hair stylist says that having highlights will look better for the wedding day hair. If you wanna keep your brunette, you can balayage to a lighter tone Smiley smile

I'm having a similar debate with myself! Been a blonde for many years but recently went auburn. I think if you're thinking that much about it, go back to blonde if you think that's what defines you most (I'm leaning towards going back to blonde)

Long, you'll have more hair styles to choose from. Both colors look great on you.
