Bloody nose vs dress

Mia and Brandon, on July 26, 2021 at 4:57 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
It's dawning on me that I may have to carry tissues on me at all times during my wedding i have extremely sensitive blood vessels in my nose and can have a bloody nose from light rubbing or even breathing to hard and me wearing a light pink and white dress seems like an accident waiting to happen how should I keep tissues at my disposal constantly

I would make sure your bridal attendant has them on you. Maybe you can even sneak a mini pack into your bouquet?

I had this problem as a kid. I would get nosebleeds every day, even when I was asleep. Are you aware there's a simple surgery to fix it?

I was thinking of using my vintage purse to hold it in so it would be on me at all times

I would strongly encourage you to talk to an ENT. It's a very, very simple procedure that takes a few minutes. If I could handle it at 10, you can handle it as an adult. You don't deserve to worry about this on your wedding day. 💕

You definitely don't get put under. I remember it. You just get a little dab of novocain up your nose. It's not too different from a COVID swab test if you've done one of those recently. 😊 And the technology has probably improved since I had it done.

I think having them in your handbag is a good idea, though you may discover you can't hold onto it at all times (like during the ceremony). What about having pockets added to your dress? (I had pockets in mine - it was fantastic to have them lol)

I was thinking of keeping my vintage purse on me at all times even during ceremony and pockets would not be possible with my dress sense the amount of frills lace and pearls and sense I think the purse would be peoples least concern sense me wearing a dress in general can be seen as "controversial"

I was just thinking depending on the bag, you may need to have it somewhere else during the ceremony. Pockets were just a thought, since you need somewhere to store things. If people see you in a dress as "controversial" maybe they shouldn't be invited to your wedding - the people who love you, should love you as you are and as you want to be - just my thought though.

I would suggest keeping hydrogen peroxide in the bathroom you’ll be using, just in case, along with at least two absorbent towels. I’m prone to nose bleeds as well and know that sometimes even with tissues on you, you can’t get to them quick enough. This way you have peace of mind that you have a back-up plan.
All you do is soak the spot in peroxide while holding the towel on the inner side and blotting the outside once it stops bubbling and doing it over and over until it’s gone.

I used to have such bad bloody noses that it came out of my eyes lol. I looked incredibly scary. I would carry a clutch with you with tissues in it for any accidents, a stain remover pen and aquaphor to moisturize the inside of your nose after a nose bleed. If you feel one coming, go to the bathroom, lock the stall door and lean over into the toilet and let it drip out. Do not plug your nose up. Letting it drip out will ensure that the nose bleed will finish properly and you’ll be on your way to resuming your life in no time. I get such bad nose bleeds it looks like a crime scene, and I usually just let it drip into the sink for 45 minutes and then can immediately blow my nose with no issues because of this!

Stay hydrated as well! And definitely go to an ENT if you haven’t already.

Mine are shorter now that I let them drip out. But my worst ones are over an hour still! And if your nose starts running faster normal and you aren’t sick, that’s your sign that it’s a bloody nose. So you know your sign. That’s what happens to me too. If I feel it start running I immediately get a tissue because I know it’s probably blood

Yes, that’s true. But you just said that your nose will start running and that they’re an hour long still haha. I have had the same experience So I’m giving you tips based on what used to happen to me! Take them or leave them. Good luck!
