Blooming Branches in January?

MsLiveOak, on February 25, 2015 at 1:30 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

My fiance and I are getting married on January 9th of next year. I really like the look of cherry blossom branches, and contacted fiftyflowers.com since I've read so many great reviews, but they said they have limited availability and this year they were not able to ship out any branches before this week due to weather issues. Does anyone have any other ideas on alternatives? I want to stick with natural or preserved, because I love the scent of greens and have some guests coming who are allergic or sensitive to latex. We are going for a rustic elegant, enchanted, nature-inspired theme. Thanks!

Honestly, as a florist, I really try to stay away from flowering branches. You never know how well they're going to bloom, and no grower can guarantee that they will bloom on a certain day (they may say they can, but they can't). I love the look of flowering branches, but I would invest in excellent silk reproductions.

I'd do silk. no one is going to guarantee blooms in a timeframe.

I wanted cherry blossoms but we weren't at the right time for them and so I did a bouquet trial with silk cherry blossoms mixed with fresh flowers. The more I though about it, I decided to leave them out - I personally didn't like the silk cherry blossoms. I ended up having cream hydrangea, cream roses, and blush roses with some rhinestones and pearls added in, and I loved it!

I'm getting married 1/2/16! We are doing curly willow branches for our centerpieces. Because of the time of year, you never know what will be in. We are using real flowers for the bouquets so that's enough for me.
