Blusher? Or not?

FutureMrsTurcios, on November 12, 2016 at 11:38 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

I've been going back and forth in my head with regards to if I should wear a blusher or not. My mom looked really disappointed the first time I told her I wasn't planning on doing it and she's been respectful about not pushing me to use it. I did my bridals last week and my photographer asked about it as well. Did any of ya'll not use it or did and regret it?

It's all personal taste. I couldn't even have imagined not wearing a blusher. Plus it was one of my husbands very few requests for the whole wedding. He thought the moment of lifting the veil was so romantic. He really only asked for that and a ton of good food so I didn't feel like I could say no, even if it hadn't been in my original plan. Personally I would just try it on both ways and see how it feels. As far as wanting to make your mom happy, you would really only wear the blusher for the walk down the aisle and possibly during the ceremony (though that's optional and you could have it off for that part if you chose) so perhaps consider if just walking down the aisle in it wouldn't be a big deal and might be worth making your mom smile. You certainly don't have to but if you try it on and find you don't hate it, then maybe just wearing it for the walk would be a nice thing to do and plus then you could have pics both ways!

Ultimately it's your choice; I've only seen a blusher a handful of times in the past years.

I personally am not doing it because things covering my face like that make me uncomfortable, and get on my nerves. I haven't seen anyone use one in quite awhile, and it's definitely not something you have to have. It's up to whatever you like and feel comfortable with

For me, I couldn't stand it at first. But my dad looked so disappointed that I didn't want one. So I compromised and will have it walking up the aisle with my dad and then when we get to the altar he'll lift it back to kiss me and send me off lol. The veil is staying on for the ceremony and then for some pics. Then coming off!!! It'll be a very short blusher and then ankle length full veil. I'm over it now and I'm looking forward to wearing the blusher!

I did it and was happy I did. My wedding was pretty traditional & I had always imagined wearing one so it worked for me. You have to do whatever makes you comfortable though. It is your day.

I wore one for my first wedding and didn't for my second because it affects the clarity of your vision and I wanted the clear view the second time around. Just something to think about.

I bought one with it, and didn't even realize till I got home!! Because I didn't realize it till after I bought it, I hadn't planned on using it.

It doesn't have to affect your vision. That depends on the material. Mine was such thin and fine tulle that honestly I forgot I had it on during the ceremony itself until my husband lifted it. I couldn't feel it or see it. A heavier material, yes you are going to feel and see it and whether that bothers you is individual. But I could barely tell I had it on, both the veil and blusher, and that was with a royal length veil (the step longer than cathedral).

Physically, yes, true. But mine I still couldn't see at all. Just depends on how sensitive you are to things like that I think.

Personal taste, but I love it. The slight mystery, the suspense, the groom lifting it for the first kiss.... Can't wait!

Im debating on it! I want to, but at the same time I want to be able to see everything clearly. However that's my only issue with it.

Thanks so much! I'm still debating on it but did ask FH. He said that he hasn't seen it in a long time and isn't a real big fan of them, plus he feels that it would take away from when I walk down the aisle- and people won't be able to really see my face. But that at the same time he likes the fact that he would be the first one to really see me once he lifts it.
