Body wraps....do they work?

caro, on August 26, 2015 at 12:24 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 32

Anyone knows if body wraps truly work? I need something to firm my arms. I’ve been lifting weights and eating lots of protein and vegetables but the arms…..not as firm as I like them to be.

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. No they do not work and I can tell you that from personal experience. I was naive enough to try them and wasted a ton of money on the stupid things.

They worked for me! I used them on my back for my love handles. They obviously don't provide long term results but after using the whole pack (4 wraps) it lasted a few months for me & made a huge difference. There are things you need to do (like drink a lot of water, stay away from soda & junk food, etc) while doing it to achieve the best results. Obviously your arms won't stay that way forever but for a special event I think they're great. These are the ones I used.

I think it's different for everyone. I followed the directions by drinking a ton of water, staying away from junk food and pop, I exfoliated before putting the wrap on, I wrapped saran wrap around the wrap to keep it in place, kept it on for the time I was supposed to, repeated it as often as the directions said, and it didn't not work one bit. I am also big on Instagram and have a lot of followers due to my 132 pound weight loss that I've documented on IG and a lot of them have also tried them with no results and I also have personal friends who have tried them with no results. So I stand by what I said with them being a waste of money.

A close friend started selling itworks so I tried my arms... With her on speed dial going over every aspect and following it to a T. Nothing at all. We measured, pictured everything. She has since stopped selling it because no one was getting results.

@Jessica, I think any results you saw were likely the result of cutting out soda and junk food and drinking all that water (which keeps you full and likely to eat less than you normally might)... the wraps simply don't work.

The healthiest and best way to lose weight is diet and exercise. Quick fixes either won't work or won't last.

Not sure how much you need to tone, but you'll get there with enough time and patience. Keep the workouts going and eating right. Don't starve yourself and you'll be headed in the right direction. Bands and those thermal belts are a waste of your money and more importantly, time.

Make sure to focus your triceps to tone the underside/back of your arms. This is one of my favorite triceps workouts, on the cable weights, super effective! Start out at only like 10 pounds and make sure you have a gym person check your form.

Edit: Cute guy in the pic too!

No, they don't work, but that won't stop the manufacturer from telling you that they do. Exercise builds muscle tone. There's no quick fix.

Amanda, what are the pictures supposed to show? that your arms look different with different lighting?

Wraps don't work, there is no reason behind it why they would work. If you used them and think they worked, it's probably because you wanted them to work and think they did. Creams don't work against cellulites, if anything, you massaging them works. I really wish people would stop believing this shit.

Actually those pics where taken 2 hours apart. Lighting has nothing to do with the pictures. If you clearly can not see a difference on the top of my arms where I wrapped then I'm sorry. There will always be people out there that hate and that's ok!! It has worked for me and many of my friends and family! If you don't think they work by all means don't use them but no need to tell others they don't work because clearly they do and they can find out for themselves!! The only risk they have is they bought a wrap for $25. That's it..and WHEN it works it would be there best thing they bought. I am a vendor at wedding events...I wrap hundreds of Brides right then and there and they love their results. I change lives everyday and LOVE IT!

P.S. if you think there is no reasoning behind how they work you clearly not educated on the wraps!

If it worked, EVERYONE would use them. I'm sorry Amanda, but I agree with CB - your photos have drastic lighting changes in the 3 pictures.

I'm cool with people doing things to make themselves feel better, but wraps aren't a revolutionary "life changing" thing. OP, nothing beats healthy diet and exercise.

Additionally - solicitation isn't allowed on the forums.. Amanda, in the future, if you want to educate people on the product you are selling - you may want to connect with that person individually.

I see absolutely no difference between the three photos, even with the different lighting and I looked 3 times.

Well, first off I am a vendor on this website under It Works. And i don't remember asking you guys any questions...do you? I am responding to a person who asked a question. They worked for me still work for me and others. Second, nobody said not watch what you eat or not to excerice. Let's see you post the pics of you claiming they didn't work??!!

    Amanda,

If you actually a legit WW vendor - we would have no way of knowing. You have a double ring avatar, and your profile doesn't look like any other vendor I've seen here.

I appreciate you responding to a question, that is what the forums are for - however since your profile has nothing indicating you are a vendor, and since you have NEVER commented on anything before - I hope where you can see that it looks like you are just someone trying to sell products.

If you truly have paid to be a vendor on WW - I'd hope you would put effort into your profile, because as it stands right now, you look like a troll. I'm not convinced you aren't.
