Booked makeup girl already but now having second thoughts :/

Is your deposit refundable? If not, are you willing to lose the deposit to go with this other makeup artist?

Have you had makeup trials with either lady? Perhaps do a trial with the other girl from the posts and see if you really like how she works and compare it. IF you decide you want to use a different makeup artist just send a courteous email saying it didn't work out with your vision and you went in another direction. You may have to loose your deposit if you truly believe the other girl has something your looking for.

Think about what lead you to your original choice. Does her gallery show work similar to what you need with your eye shape and skin tone? Perhaps even compare prices and see if your willing to pay that much plus a lost deposit if you believe the newer artist services are that much better. (and worth that much of the budget.) Covid leads to a lot of changes and is a good excuse to ask for the deposit back, but once it's paid usually it's gone.

I booked with a hair and makeup person and paid the deposit but ended up using someone else that already does our hair. Go with who you feel comfortable with and who you like. I was only out $200.

View Quoted Comment I just said that I had to unfortunately cancel because I no longer needed their services. They understood and no feelings were hurt. And the price difference was a huge one for me too. 860 compared to 500.

If your deposit is non refundable then you have to ask yourself if you're willing to lose the deposit

I’d do a trial with the other one so you can really compare their style & techniques.
