So I told myself I wouldn't be like this on here but this is getting on my last nerves. Okay so I decided I want to wear boots at my wedding.. I also want my Bridal Party to wear boots. Okay so I decided I want to wear boots at my wedding..

I also want my Bridal Party to wear boots.

My mom says to me "I hope your bridesmaids are wearing long dresses then"

cause SHE thinks it looks repulsive. and tacky

I replied to her "well i guess now I have to"

and she continues on about how tacky it looks, I told her its a good thing you don't have to pay for em them.

So is this wrong?

I think the boots with Bridemaid dresses are really cute. and even some wedding dresses.

I think it's strange if you're not from a boot-wearing area/culture. I am, so we see the boots here at times at formal events (especially during Rodeo season).. Honestly, though, I love boots - but I am super picky about them because they need to be broken in as much (if not more) than normal shoes. And like someone said above, really good ones are pricey - well over $100 (actually some of the best ones are over $200).

What do your bridesmaids say? Are they willing to shell out and wear boots? If so, then do it.

    Why not white boots?

    Please no white boots.

And I should also confirm what the other ladies are saying in that these bridesmaids all paid like $250 for their boots. The bride paid for their dresses. So I'd probably say no to boots for the 'maids unless they all wear them regularly to begin with.

I agree, by the way, on no white boots. When I think of white boots I think of 8 year old little girls wearing pink fringe vests and skirts and white boots going to rodeo day at school.

Plus the white boots you have in the picture are not western - so they don't go with rustic. They go with a more romantic, Victorian or Edwardian feel.

I love the cowboy boots, as long as everyone in your BP already has them! They can be expensive!

Gotcha, and I have boots that were originally 60 i got em for 30, Im not into spending that much money for shoes and I refuse to, I wear boots alot. and the girls wont mind wearing them, they like that idea.

my mom just think it looks tacky, but im wondering with the dresses i posted if it would look decent?

i like the second pair of white boots i posted.

since apparently brown boots are tacky.

boots in general with dresses are tacky, i wear boots with dresses all the time and it looks cute.

my mom thinks it looks cute just not with a wedding dress -__-

Im in baltimore and showed her pictures, and she still thinks it looks repulsive

I think that you should go with brown boots, it will give a little color instead of white on white, plus you will match your BP which is cute. Also I think your BP should be in short dresses to show the boots off. What color are your BP dresses going to be?

I'm with Erica actually. Are you having a western wedding? Then I think boots (even brown boots) can definitely work! But I understand your mom thinking they are a bit odd if you're not from a western culture (I'm from Idaho so I've had family get married in boots and barns forever...but that's not everyone's case). Although I actually like the white boots and think they would be less western!)

But I'm sure you'll look gorgeous regardless whatever you choose. Smiley smile

ETA: I saw your engagement pics and love your boots in those Smiley smile

Now that I know what you're wedding is going to be like, I think it's absolutely perfect! I do think they're very cute, especially with short dresses.

    Smiley smile thank you kay!

and yeah I mean she's thinking I want casual boots, but you can find some inexpensive brown boots!

yeah I'm going for a rustic/country wedding, in a firehall, great price for what we are getting really.

center pieces, cake, food, ceremony, flowers (not bouquets) and reception for 4 hours for 135 people = less than 6000. so, i mean I'm trying to make it work and I have another post about ideas for it, and such so I'll take all the ideas i can get!

I think the boots with dresses look cute. If you're into that then you should wear it because at the end of the day you're the one who needs to be happy and you're the one who the whole day is about. Those white boots are cute but I've never seen white boots with a wedding dress but it's something new to try. They're formal yet country how you want them. I would say to do with what makes you happy the boots will look cute and will represent you and your style Smiley smile

If you want boots, then wear the boots! Im wearing boots and my girls are too. My BMs all have boots already and I got a new pair. Do what ever you want, and the whole thing of how boots with dresses is overplayed or overdone because so many people have done it, who cares have you been to all of those weddings? Do what you want!
