Are you splurging or saving on booze?

Save. we went with the beer and wine package instead of the liquor one since the reception was only 2 hours

We haven't gotten to this in our planning yet, but when we do.. I suspect we'll be spending more than we originally budgeted for it.

That’s how I feel too. Alcoholism runs in my family and I can’t drink anyway with my medications. The venue not allowing it just made it easier to say no.

I have one recovering addict (that I know of) so that wasn’t my deciding factor. FH & I just don’t drink. And we couldn’t see taking a big chunk of the budget for others to get buzzed. Just didn’t fit us. So, they can drink Coke and water and like it or leave. (And other stuff.)

Well - we are inviting kids so i didn't think a complete open liquor bar was necessarily appropriate. so we did beer wine and champagne. which was included in my package price with food/venue.

Save, but hopefully will look like a splurge. We have to stock the bar ourselves. We are planning to stock with a few high quality options, so not a full open bar, but full enough. We have a good friend who's parents own a liquor store so he can get us everything pretty much at cost...

Save. We don’t want people messing up our wedding. (My family are heavy alcoholics and violent when drinking too much)

I want to splurge but my FH doesn't drink at all so he wants to save. I think we will be doing a modified open bar with beer and wine and one signature cocktail.

Save - We are having a fall wedding, so providing apple ale and a spiked spiced apple cider punch. The venue has a cash bar for people that want something else.

Save! Our venue is in a dry county so there won't be any alcohol at the wedding.

Same! Our venue is in a dry county so we can't have alcohol. Most of my family, FH's family, and their friends don't drink anyways so there wouldn't have been too many people drinking anyways.

We are saving by doing beer and wine, and then cash bar for hard alcohol. Our reception is at noon so hard alcohol isn't really a necessity in our opinion.

Splurge for sure!! This was super important for us. We had an open bar and even paid for upgraded liquors.

Splurge. Drinks and food are the biggest expenses in our budget. But we will only do beer and wine.

Splurged. We received a promotion when booking our wedding at the resort that allowed us to get top-shelf bar at lower tier pricing, which helped. We also tried to be smart about switching to consumption during the plated dinner and towards the later half of the evening when some of our older guests would have left.

Saving. We can't afford much for it. We'll be getting a a couple of cases of beer, a few bottles of liquor for mixed drinks, and a couple bottles of champagne for toasts

I don't drink, so I didn't care about this at all, but it came with our venue, so splurge?

Open bar, everyone was happy, most people took cabs/train home, so I felt totally safe about it.
