Bored of barns

Just search pinterest for elegant wedding decor or boho or whatever style you prefer. There is lots of decor out there that is not rustic. That's also not my style and we had a DIY backyard wedding but no barn theme or rustic.

Girl, I AM WITH YOU! I have never enjoyed the barn/rustic aesthetic. There are tons of other wedding looks out there! Classic, minimalist, boho, gothic, cottage core, romantic, vintage, celestial, themed... The list goes on and on! What kind of vibe are you going for?

Do you have a specific look in mind? If you can pinpoint something specific you will usually have an easier time locating it on Pinterest, Instagram or Google Images.

Totally get you, rustic aesthetic isn't my jam, either.

It sounds like you're looking for something modern. Have you considered geometric? That could be very chic.

What kind of venue do you have? You mentioned skyline view, is it garden? Ballroom with big windows?

Take a wedding style quiz! That should help you figure out what “theme” is more your style. I knew from the start I wanted a more romantic or classic feel- I am not into the shabby chic, barn decor at ALLLL lol. Those quizzes should help! Then just look at Pinterest and Etsy!

These are some quick ideas I encountered under geometric.

The hexagon arches come in different materials (if you want to stay completely away from wood), but I think with the glam fabric draping it keeps it out of rustic territory.

I've also seen people wrap those itty bitty string lights around flowers in the geometric vases. The vases often allow you to get away with fewer flowers because they are striking themselves. Just some quick thoughts!

I'm getting married in a garden, so I've used a lot of keywords like:

"botanical," "florals," "whimsical," and "airy!"

I never have to see a rustic wedding in my life lol. I searched for modern, glamorous, or alternative weddings for ideas outside of burlap and wood .
