Botox or Other Ways to Treat Wrinkles for Wedding

J, on January 30, 2018 at 7:38 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 10
Unfortunately I have pretty deep wrinkles in my forehead even though I’m only 33! I tried Botox in the past and it helped smooth them out quite a bit, but I didn’t like that I my forehead felt frozen and I couldn’t make normal facial expressions, so I wasn’t really considering getting it again for my wedding. I want to be able to fully express how I’m feeling and not have a weird fake stoic expression, haha. But now that my wedding is getting closer I’m starting to feel pretty self conscious about my forehead wrinkles! Smiley cry My wedding isn’t until the end of May though so I was thinking maybe if I get Botox soon it will have mostly worn off by my wedding but maybe my forehead will still look a little smoother. Does that make sense? Is anyone else getting Botox for their wedding? How far in advance are you getting it? Does anyone know of any other amazing ways to get rid of or cover forehead wrinkles? There are so many products out there I don’t even know where to start! I used Retinol in the past and it seemed to help so I might do that again. I know this is totally a vain question, I’m mainly just worried about it since everyone is going to be looking at me! But I know no will notice it as much as I do and at least they can airbrush the pics, lol. Anyway, thanks for any help!

Not sure if this would help but personally for wrinkles I use a good pore filling primer before applying my foundation and it seems to do a good job of concealing them. When applying the primer make sure to press into the skin where the wrinkles are instead of rubbing it around on your face this way it helps to fill in the areas where you have wrinkles instead of just rubbing it over them. Worth a try😊

Your forehead should not be frozen if done properly. I think you had too much injected. When I've gotten Botox they err on the side of under injecting with the understanding that after it takes effect in a few days I can go back for little more of need be.

Thanks!! I will have to get a good pore filling primer! Is there any one in particular that you recommend?? I have my makeup trial next week so I will also talk to my makeup lady about it and maybe she can do some magic and help cover my wrinkles! Smiley laugh

Thanks! I wasn’t totally 100% frozen but almost! It felt weird. I was already thinking of going somewhere else if I do it again, so now I really think I will since it seems like they probably over injected me at the place I went before. Thanks again!

I just finished going to school for esthetics. If you are concerned about wrinkles, I highly suggest talking with an esthetician and setting up a skin care routine. Not only will the overall health of your skin increase, but it doubles as a way to show love to yourself!

If fighting wrinkles is your number one priority, I would highly recommend the Elemis Pro-Collagen line. It has multiple ingredients (like padina pavonica) that help promote collagen prouction. Collagen is what keeps our skin looking supple and plump, along with elastin.

If that line isn't for you, look for product lines that help promote collagen, and also look for things that have anti-oxidants. Anti- oxidants fight free radicals, which breaks down collagen in the skin.

But the most important thing to remember is to love yourself the way you are right this minute! Creams and skin care products aside, you are beautiful in the skin your in at this moment 😊 I hope this helps

Thanks Julia!! This was very helpful! You’re right that I should talk to a professional, I did in the past but she recommended so many things I was kind of overwhelmed, lol! So I think I will try to meet with someone else. Anyway, thanks for the advice, I will definitely look into those products you recommended. Smiley smile

No problem! They're pricey (for me anyways haha!) so I completely understand going to a different line if need be. Some options for affordable skin care maintenance is look at having facials done at schools, which usually cuts down costs dramatically.

If you decide to try out elemis, call local spas and see if they carry any samples of the collagen line. That way you can try things out before making a purchase. Also check the return policy at those spas. Usually they are more than happy to help out!

For at home facials, I usually recommend three things: Cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Cleanser gets rid of the dirt and excess oils in the skin. Toner closes pores (so it's less likely for oil or dirt to get trapped in them), and helps get the skin ready to receive products. And moisturizer helps the skin stay hydrated (I highly recommend looking into moisturizers with jojoba oil). You can also add masks that can target skin issues, but those three are perfectly great to start out with so it's not overwhelming

You can always cut bangs to cover your forehead or wear a flower crown to cover it if you don't want to try Botox again. If they are deep you can have fillers injected in them. I personally would be afraid for trying somewhere new for boxtox in case they inject to much just really do your research if you do decide to go that route.
