Boudoir photo printing

Natalie, on July 1, 2017 at 8:45 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 18

So I took advantage of my hair and make up trial and had a self boudoir session after. I just couldn't make myself let someone else do it, and didn't have the extra cash, so I looked up a few articles on tips for diy-ing boudoir pics and the rest is history! Surprisingly, I think they are pretty good. No, I'm not brave enough to post them on here but even if they're not great FH will love them!

Now, the question is how do I print them? I'm not sure how I'd feel picking them up at the Walgreens counter......nor am I sure they would allow them to be printed. I thought about Shutterfly but also didn't know if that's allowed. Anyone have any experience with this??

I printed mine (in a photo book) through Shutterfly. I also had reservations, but it worked out well!

I think you can selfprint at walgreens or staples maybe? I don't know if there is a way to do that without displaying the photo on the screen first though.

Sam's or Costco at least has quality papers, if you deal locally....Walgreens uses shite, but I'd not recommend the kiosks, which is why I recommended Miller's Lab, you'll actually get good prints.

Thanks everyone! I know someone somewhere will have to see them in order for me to print them but I'd rather it not be the creeper at the Walgreens photo counter (no offense if you work there, I'm sure you aren't the creeper I'm talking about) lol

I'd personally go with shutterfly. The more impersonal the better probably. But also, would you mind sharing the articles you read? I'd love to do some boudoir photos too but don't see myself being able to afford them anytime soon. Thanks in advance and good luck with everything!

I was thinking about printing them at home. My printer does a good job printing pictures.

I use Shutterfly. They don't see the photos.

These are a couple I looked at. I feel like most of them had the same info. The most useful advice I saw was use natural light, have a secure place to prop phone/camera, and use a rolled up washcloth to position your camera exactly where you want it. It definitely wasn't easy but I think it will be worth it.

Walmart has the machines that print them right there while you wait. Not the 1-hour. If you have a good printer you can print them yourself with photo paper that you can pick up at wal-mart or target.

I've printed some of our engagement pictures with Shutterfly and Mpix. While both were good quality, Mpix was better. Shutterfly looked blurry compared to Mpix.

CVS has machines that you connect to via wifi on your phone to print pictures. I went at a time when I thought it would be least busy, and brought a sweater wth me to cover up the screen if need be.

Great idea- I wanted to do these for FH but didn't have the extra cash. Great that they turned out well! Also how are you presenting them to FH so it's surprise but he knows not to open it in front of anyone??

@Akite D I think I'm going to give them to him in private after our rehearsal dinner. I want to see his face so I want to be with him. I also don't want them laying around if I leave them for him the morning of the wedding! Haha that could be bad. I'm going to most likely put them in an album with a tie closure and attach some cut little note with a "for your eyes only" type saying.
