You should not have to pay to book a session. Paying per image is a scam. Keep looking on Thumbtack.com, Instagram or Yelp. Contact photographers in your area or branch out to a larger city close by. Price depends on your location because this is an international firum. Get detailed priced quotes from all photographers before you decide.

That’s crazy! I just did one & paid $250. I did my own hair & makeup so she didn’t charge me for that. It’s a coworker that is starting up her business & she’s awesome! That $250 included the album plus a thumb drive of all the pics.

Boudoir photography is highly specialized. If you like this photographer’s gallery and they are within budget, I would not consider thumbtack or a cheaper route. This is not the time to go cheap.
It is also not unusual to pay up front and then pay per image. Research and ask questions. If you are working with an established professional, information will be readily available and your questions answered.

I found a Groupon for a shoot. I don’t remember how much it was, less than $50, and it included 2 5x7 prints. I then ordered 5 more 4x6 for like $150.
It was an hr shoot and I got 3 outfits.

I booked mine and it is $425 total. I did have to pay a retainer of 50%, which I feel is normal so they know you'll actually show up My price includes hair, makeup, the space we are using, a photo album and 1.5 hours of photo time. I would keep looking around but I will say pricing will definitely depend on what they are providing!
