Boudoir Photos - Worth It or Not?

Yes!! I did my boudoir shoot just over a week ago. Yes, it makes a fun gift for my FH but more than that it was an awesome confidence boost. I got my hair and makeup done, bought some outfits I felt awesome in, and drank mimosas.

I think it depends on the package the photographer offers. I had them done for Valentine's Day last year, and based on my experience, I would say it's worth it. Although since then, I've seen some photographers that charge a ridiculous amount of money for such a short period of time that I would find it hard to bring myself to do it in that scenario. But my FH absolutely loves the photos I had done, and I'd definitely do it again as a wedding gift. I'd just be careful and make sure a) it's someone you'd be comfortable with and offers some kind of consultation beforehand, and b) you're not having to pay an arm and a leg for them.

I think it definitely depends on the photography package. I have my shoot coming up in 2 weeks, and I am so excited about it. My photographer has an amazing personality and is all about female empowerment. I had fun specifically buying lingerie to wear for them, and plan to wear the same outfits on our honeymoon. I also picked all stuff I knew I would wear again, so the cost was a little more under control.

I thought about it - but at the end of the day I didn't and here's why...

He'll love it - but what do you do with the pictures afterwards? It's not like you will just set them out on the coffee table as a convo starter - haha, at least I wouldn't. I couldn't justify spending the money on the photographer, then the prints, plus the lingerie for something that will end up in the closet. (about $500 when I was looking into pricing for all of it)

I think it is so worth it. I just bought my lingerie and feel so sexy and feminine in it. I can't wait for my Boudoir shoot this summer.

I did it and I really liked it. I don’t see it so much as just a present as capturing the way I look now bc my body will change after I have kids and as I age. But hopefully my fiancé will love it!

I then gave him his favorite one blown up for his birthday last year and we hung it on the wall inside our closet where the door opens to so no one can see it but us. I definitely think they can be worth it, but I have waited both times until the portrait studio had a $100 sale for 30 minutes/10 digital images/small accordion book with 6 images. New ones for wedding present are next week. Still need to pick out lingerie but figure I can put it to use again on the honeymoon.

I just got my pictures back and yes it’s so worth it! I really splurged and also paid to have my hair and make up done and I’m in love with the pictures!

If you get a good deal for it, I would do it. It was a fun experience and I got(I bought 5, 2 included) 7 pictures. My husband has 1 favorite hanging in his gun safe. The rest are stuffed on a shelf in his closet 🤷‍♀️

Just curious, what’s considered a good deal? Some photographers (especially around me in the DC area) are so expensive! From my brief research today, most photo sessions start at $500 (1 hour, 3 outfits) and then I’d have to pay more on top of that to get prints.
