Boudoir Photos

Erin, on July 2, 2019 at 2:54 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 13

Did any of you ladies do boudoir photos? If so, was it awkward? What did your FH think about them? Debating doing this as a surprise for FH, but feel like I'll be super uncomfortable.

One of my friends did them. Her FH loved them but she felt awkward. She later said it was probably because that was the first time she met their photographer in person

I just paid for my session with my photographer last night! I won't be getting them done until next year, but she was running a summer special, so I figured I'd pay for it now. I can't wait to get it done! Every review that I've read has said that while their significant others loved the photos, the best part about doing boudoir is that they felt empowered and sexy in their own skin. I think clicking with your photographer is paramount to having successful boudoir done because discomfort will really translate when you're almost (or fully!) naked.

I went to a bachlorette party and one of the bridesmaids took the boudoir photos at the hotel. With 15 or 20 of us in the room. It wasnt awkward at all. (Seriously, not sarcasm.) We all happened to be a bunch of arts and theater people, so we gave a ton of suggestions. The bride was super nervous about the whole thing, but totally relaxed after a bit.

I just did mine this past weekend! I am lucky enough to have a photographer sister, so it wasn't awkward at ALL! I did send my fiancé a sneak peak and he said "WOW!" so I know he will love them. I think the main things would be to block with your photographer and trust and respect them.

I won a free boudoir session from a bridal expo and have been feeling really anxious about doing it, but I also really want to. I spent a while talking to the photographer and she is really focused on empowering women and making them feel beautiful. I’d definitely meet with the photographer or at least talk to them first to get a feel for their personality. I’ve also been considering asking my best friend to come with me after the photographer suggested asking a trusted female to come for support (she won’t allow males to be in the room for the shoot). I think my FH will be really surprised, but I also think it will be a big confidence boost for me.

Most professionals know how to make it feel less awkward and some provide champagne or a mimosa to help "loosen up."

I just did a session in May and it was amazing. At first I was a little uncomfortable because I had never done anything like that but with the right photographer your experience will be well worth it! My photographers had the right playlist, helped me with posing, and just made it so much fun. My wedding is not until November so FH hasn't seen them yet but I have and I am amazed! It will definitely be a confidence boost and if you don't have kids yet it will also be a way to see yourself pre baby

Zero disagreement. But I think it was just a situation where timing aligned for everyone.

I did it and didn't feel awkward at all. If anything I thought the dress shopping process was WAY more awkward LOL after that I was like ... nothing's going to phase me.
Those dress consultants literally saw it all haha

I seriously considered it, as a surprise gift for FH.. but, in the interest of sticking with my budget I didn't end up going that route. It definitely sounds empowering and fun with the right photographer/atmosphere!
