Boudoir Photos

Samantha, on June 25, 2019 at 11:16 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7
Friday I’m getting my boudoir photo shoot done! My photographer hasn’t told me where yet but it’s suppose to be at a swanky hotel in downtown Philly. Since we live further from Philly now I’m taking the train into town and having a whole spa day out it, starting with sugaring then hair. Brides who’ve had this done!!!

Advice, tips? Makeup suggestions? I’m getting my hair done because I need a cut anyway so that’ll take care of the style, no MU artist, they charge waaaaay to much. I have a few teddies and slips and bra/panties to choose from - I get 4 outfit changes. For “props” I have my garter, a long veil, wedding jewelry/shoes and I’m going to get a small bouquet of flowers.

Nervous and excited - FH won this deluxe package for me or else I’d never willingly opt to get it on my own. Ive been also working on losing weight for the wedding and am within 2# of my target goal for the photo shoot, still a bit body conscious though.

I recently did one a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved how my photos turned out. For makeup, I went with a darker sultry look. When I got my makeup done, I thought it was way too much (just cause I usually don't wear much normally), but in photos they were perfect!

Also, I know it can be nerve-racking experience. But your photographer should make you feel comfortable and help you with your posing! I also found it helpful to drink a lot of champagne beforehand Smiley smile Makes you a lot more relaxed. I'd also look up a few poses that you like on Pinterest in case your photographer asks if there are any poses that you wanted to do.

Have fun! Your fiance will love it, but you'll love it even more! It's truly a self-confidence boost.

I’m not good at makeup application at all and read heavier makeup (they even suggested it) was better for the photography, is it a good investment to say go to MAC and get a MU application done?

I would say it's a very good investment! It'll definitely bring the overall boudoir look together. If you don't feel comfortable putting on too much, at least go for a bronze smokey look. These tend to look more natural than the typical smokey eye.

My biggest suggestion is to relax and have fun. I was super uncomfortable at first, but my photographer made me feel super comfortable and I had a blast. My sister in law did my makeup and unfortunately it was way too light and I felt like I belonged on the Black Swan, but again, my photographer kind of edited it carefully and made them look better. Play with the sheets/blankets, I wish I would've!

As stated by previous posters, enjoy it and have fun! I am very insecure about how my body looks too and I LOVE the photos I got back. And I was even fighting a nasty cold when I got mine done. Your photographer will help you pose in flattering ways- so don't focus on body insecurities and just know when it is all said and done you will look amazing!

I actually did my typical make-up routine which is pretty light and it still looked great, but I've also seen the darker makeup that looks great too! It's really up to what you want and the look you're trying to achieve.

Thank you for convincing me!!I’m SO glad I splurged a little on some high quality makeup. The MAC gal did a great subtle and smoky sultry look and in the initial previews it really pulled my look together, and I felt so much sexier with professional makeup it was easier to use my “sultry face” - as my FH says - and enjoy being in the moment. Turned out to be a fun session and I’m so glad I came out of my shell for it.

Yes!!! I'm so glad you got a good experience out of it. I'm sure once you see your photos (if you haven't seen some already) you'll be amazed and appreciate your body so much more 😊
