Boudoir pricing

Hey everyone!
Hope everyone is having a lovely New Years! I started thinking about this for a present for my fiancé when I saw a photographer running a special for $200 for a 30 minute boudoir session and I requested pricing for normal sessions. We paid $500 for our engagement pictures so I’m trying to get a ballpark idea if this is over priced or not?!?! What did you pay for your boudoir photos and what did it include??? I attached a screenshot of the photographers prices.

So when I found a boudoir photog.. it said 350 .. I'm like that's great but it was $200 for 1 photo on a usb and so on .. or 750 for a 6x6 photo book .. I am using my wedding photog.. to do a boudoir shoot and going to a fancy billards hall who's letting me take pictures for free .

I paid 600 for an hour and half, it included champagne, unlimited outfit changes, 8x10 album, usb of photos, and I used her studio, but she would have done it at my home.

I'm paying $150 for the session fee which is half price (booked during black Friday sale) and includes hair and makeup, champagne and snacks and I think a 90 minute photo session in her studio. However her cheapest print item is like $600 and is a 6X6 album. I think that's a discounted price for the black Friday sale too. No digital images unless I pay hundreds of dollars for them.

I went with Celebrate Your Sexy boudoir all female photography company via Groupon; there were three companies to choose from. I paid $32 for the deluxe package. I included screenshots of what the packages included. It was a one-hour session with a female photographer at a 4-star hotel; they book several sessions back-to-back. They allowed me to bring my girl friend whom come for support. Four outfit changes and general touch-ups are included with the package. The dulxe package included two digital prints and those prints on mounted 4x6. However, at the personal viewing session with their representative, they show you +120 photos from the shoot. It was hard to choose only two but each additional photo was $120/each! I ended up choosing just one more digital photo to be retouched as I can get them printed in any form for a cheaper price elsewhere on Groupon. I think, in the end with a $75 discount, I ended up spending $135 total.

I bought a new white duvet. My room was already airy clean clutter free. My photo savvy friend came over and snapped all mine. I made a calendar for FH the first Xmas we spent together. I only showed a few people the photos but everyone couldn’t believe it was done at home...they came out pretty great. Then again photog is a serious hobby of mine for over 10 years.
    Things you need for DIY
    1. Great lighting
    2. DSLR camera
    3. Great photoshop skills
    4. Camera savvy friend

Ugh yes- so expensive! But I went for it. My shoot is at the end of the month. I got the minimum package and that was about $300. I coordinated my hair/makeup trial the same day so I didn’t have to pay for that as well.

Right???? I’m kind of second guessing This. I really want to do it for my fiancé but I’m having a hard time justifying that money...

That is such a good idea! My only problem is I’m getting married 5 hrs from where I live so I wouldn’t be able to do that.

My Fiancé is the person who doesn’t put a lot of value in gifts, and buys what he needs so unique presents for him are hard to come by. We also live in such a rural area the pictures would be cheaper than a trip around here or a weekend. I may check with a few other photographers and see what I can find! ☺️
