Boudoir shoot outfits?

Kaleigh, on April 4, 2018 at 9:30 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 30
I think this is the best place to have this discussion, but if I’m worth, please let me know!!

I’m having my boudoir shoot at the end of the month, and they told me to bring 4 outfits 😱

Where is the best place to buy lingerie without breaking the budget?
id like a maroon set, a black set, a blush set, and a navy set, if I can get them. 😂

also, do any of my fellow brides have any tips or anything for doing boudoir? I’m so nervous about it!

Well, I can't speak on lingerie that won't break the budget, because I went all out at Victoria's Secret.

But in regards to tips, a few things:

It's going to take a while to get used to the camera. I was so tense at the beginning because I was not used to be this bare-skinned in front of a camera. You have to relax as best as you can. Just be yourself, as cliche as that sounds.

A pose may seem sexy and sultry to you, but honestly you might end up looking like an awkward new born calf that can't walk. Trust your photographer, and ask what poses they recommend. Lighting is key!

Most importantly, have fun! It truly is exciting and it'll give you a sense of confidence. I'd do it again if I could!

I’m debating just going all out in Victoria’s Secret 😂 Cause if I don’t like it there, I’m not stuck with it.

But thank you for your advice!!

Amazon has quite a bit. If you get the ones that are prime eligible they are generally more reputable. And they have faster returns if you don't like them

Definitely Yandy- super cheap, and you can find some classy stuff there. Also I've bought things from Forplay, Venus, and even Frederick's of Hollywood (which is a bit more expensive than the others, but the stuff lasts forever!) I'm actually having my shoot in a couple weeks, and I'm bringing some outfits from the previously mentioned sites.

I bought mine from Adore Me, and I've been really happy with the quality and prices of the products!

I spent like $200 at Victoria's Secret and don't regret it.

Adore me doesn't carry my size. I have too large a cup and too small a band.

Check Amazon, Fredericks of Hollywood, local lingerie shops, etc. Just make sure anything you buy online can be returned.

-I bought a sheer short sleeve robe from TJMaxx for $14! (they have an online website and you can return in store). I also bought a white corset from TJmaxx online for only $20 but wound up returning it because I liked other stuff I found better

-I bought 2 sets from Victoria Secret - deff on the expensive side but I really liked them (I am actually only using one for the shoot but pretty sure I am keeping the other 1)

-The best deal I got was buying 3 body suits from Charlotte Russe online - they aren't considered lingerie but they sure do look like lingerie! - they ranged from $15-$22 each (way cheaper than the body suits Victoria Secret was selling).

    - remember that you don't have to wear lingerie to be "sexy". I plan on wearing my Fiance's dress shirt with bra/panties that I already own underneath so maybe to save money you can do something similar.

-I also got the thigh high stockings at Walmart for approx. $4.

I originally bought stuff from Venus online and everything came in and didn't fit at all and wasn't the styles I was looking for. I got super discouraged and upset but I just kept shopping around so that is my tip to just keep shopping around and make sure whatever you do wind up going with you feel confident in!

If you are nervous about it then maybe a boudoir session isn't for you.

Is VS “all out”? When I think all out lingerie, I’m thinking La Perla or something like that.

Besides lingerie take a button down denim shirt, maybe a plaid shirt, and an oversized sweater. My photographer had me bring all those and I love those pictures more than the lingerie shots. They're still sexy without being overt. Also as a prop take a bouquet of flowers!

These are in reference to my post above. Even an oversized sweater can lead to some nice looks. My photographer had me ease into the lingerie. We started with the white t-shirt & jeans, then an oversized sweater & underwear, then lingerie. It definitely helped with getting comfortable in front of thr camera

I was going to take the button up he proposed in (he also wore it on our first date) and the flag from his home country. But I like the idea of the sweater!

When I did my boudoir photo shoot, I brought most of the Wantable Intimates lingerie that they sent but they've since discontinued that line. In terms of what to do, if they regularly do boudoir photo shoots, you don't have to worry because they will guide you on every pose. Ask to bring a girlfriend along. I did and it made me feel much more at ease.
