Boudoir wedding shoot

Taylor, on January 9, 2022 at 1:24 PM Posted in Parties and Events 1 19
Hey girls!
I’m looking into doing a boudoir wedding shoot for my fiancé as his wedding gift! Has anyone ever done this? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advanced my lovelies! ♥️

My advice would be to know your groom and whether this is something he is into. I say this because a lot of my friends did boudoir shoots for their husbands’ wedding gifts, so I asked them about the experience. They all said it was 100% a positive experience, but in hindsight it is something they wish they would have done just for themselves, because the men weren’t really into it. They all feigned interest and excitement when they received the book, but every single one of them said they don’t think their husbands ever looked at it again even once; and they are now sitting at the bottom of a drawer or stashed away in a closet somewhere. Since I don’t plan to do a boudoir shoot, I asked my fiancé how he would have felt about receiving one for a wedding gift, and he said he wouldn’t have been into it. He said he obviously thinks I’m beautiful, and he knows I would look great in the photos, but he couldn’t see himself pulling them out to look at them; and it’s not like these are photos we would hang on a wall or anything lol He said “it would just seem weird and kind of funny to me. Like, if I took pictures for you in my boxer shorts, would you be looking at them all the time?” And he made a good point. Because I wouldn’t 😆
I don’t share this to deter you from doing the shoot. If you know your husband is super into this sort of thing, then he may absolutely love it! But it just seems that most men aren’t really into boudoir shoots. And it also seems like most women find it an empowering experience just for themselves.

This. My fiancé said he would like it because he thinks I’m beautiful, but didn’t know when he would look at it. He said he lives with me, so he already had the real thing. And he was worried about our future kids finding it one day. Lol

I did one. It was fun, I guess if you call it that. Maybe interesting experience is better. Choose outfits you’re comfortable in and be sure to try them on before hand. Trust your photographer, some of the poses may/will feel weird. Look for deals or groupons for them. I don’t remember if I bought a Groupon or “won” a free photo shoot at a bridal expo. I just know I didn’t spend a lot on it and it included 2 photos. I then bought 5 more for around $100 I think. All but 1 of the 7 photos sit in their box in our closet. My husband pinned his favorite one inside the gun safe, lol.
So, do it for you for the experience and then give it him as a bonus. I’m sure he’ll enjoy them.

I'm planning on doing a boudoir shoot in a few weeks! I was a little nervous about picking a photographer that I feel comfortable with. I chose a wedding photographer that also does boudoir. But I didn't tell her about my interest in boudoir until after we met and had our engagement photo session. Now I know I feel really comfortable with her and her photographer skills.

I know FH will love it because he's hinted toward it for a while. I'm also doing it for myself though. I think it will be a big boost of confidence! Plus I will get the photos on a USB drive. So I can print out a few now and in a couple months after we're married, I'll print a few new ones to spark it up!

I did a session for myself between my divorce and when I met FH. I LOVE the pictures and he does too. Every year I take some of the pictures and make a calendar for him for his nightstand. He loves it. Neither of us look at the book I bought!

I just scheduled one last night for 3/27/22. I was on the fence just because of the cost, but decided to go for it. It was hard to find one that gives you printing rights to the photos, but I finally did. I know my fiancé and he's naaaasty, so he'll love them and I'm sure he'll look at them repeatedly.

I’m doing a shoot in two weeks. Not sure my FH will want a book, but I figured it’d be nice just to have them on our phones when the mood strikes us. Although I like the idea of presenting it in a book, it seems expensive and something I don’t see myself getting out and looking at. I do see it as something for myself. If he likes it, it’s just a bonus. I found someone who was having a deal around Valentine’s Day for $300 for 30 photos which seemed reasonable. Lots of places you have to pay for individual photos which seems to really add up. Hopefully it’ll be fun!

I did one. And I’m married for 4 years. I am wondering where the heck to put a 16x20 wall art that comes with the package. Where do I put it if we want to have kids, a big ole metal wall art.

I did a boudoir shoot for myself (2 of them actually) before I met my fiancé. He LOVES them. Every year I buy him a calendar with prints for the holidays. I won't do one for our wedding and I wouldn't do one for him but I might do another in the future for me. 😊

I have not done a boudoir photoshoot, but they are beautiful. I think it's a sweet idea.

I've had two done now and loved both for different reasons. There are loads of things to consider but finding a good reputable photographer takes care of the majority of them becuase they will give you the best advise and go out of they're way to make sure you enjoy the experience and get what you want.

The other things I took away from the advice I got before taking the plunge was 1. Be as sure as you can that it's a gift your partner will actually appreciate. My take on it is that most do but give it some thought. 2. Be as sure as you can that he won't mind that you bared all in front of photographer without discussing it. This one didn't occurr to me until I started asking people for recommendations.

My own advice would be go for it but do it for yourself as much as for your fiancé. If you like the idea go for it. I did too becuase I actually underestimate how much I'd enjoy it and how comfortable I'd be on the day. The results from the first one were great but relatively tame. Before the end of the shoot I was already wishing I'd gone for something more risqué. I made up for it second time round!
