Bouquet Dedication

Jessica M., on December 7, 2011 at 9:14 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

So I was creeping around on a h.s. classmate's facebook - it's what I do best Smiley winking

And I saw a picture of the bride handing her mother a bouquet and the caption said "bouquet dedication"

Has anyone heard of this? If so, please elaborate.

I'm trying to find some creative alternatives to traditional reception events.

Thank yoooou! Smiley smile

Not sure if this is the same but I seen somebody say that instead of tradtional bridal toss, that at their wedding they asked all married couples up to dance floor to dance and the dj would say something like if you been married less than a year sit down, less than 5 please sit, etc... the last couple remaining recieved the bouquest, which happened to be this brides grandmother, I think.

This is what I found on the subject "Here’s an idea… instead of tossing your bouquet into a sea of wild single ladies, why not dedicate it to a woman who’s helped you through the wedding-planning process or a difficult time in your life? It’s a great opportunity to thank this special person publicly.

Thank your mother, your best friend, or grandmother. Thank the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker… who doesn’t want beautiful flowers?"

I dedicated /gave mine to my grandma instead of the bouquet toss :-) I also gave a speech about how much she's meant to me..it was awesome, it was a surprise for her, nobody else really knew except my bridal party that I was going to do it..waterworks central lol and made for some great pics/video! I got so many comments the rest of the night how people loved that I did that..my grandma is still talking about it every time I call her lol..I'm going to print out my speech and once I get the pro pic of it get like a double frame to have the pic and the speech in it for her (I wrote it down since she can't hear too well sometimes).

edited to add: my mom passed away when I was young, so my maternal grandma is the closest emotionally to me..I guess you'd just have to make sure nobody felt left out lol if you did a dedication too.
