Jessica, on February 10, 2021 at 10:35 PM Posted in Community Conversations 2 7
Anyone used silica to dry/ preserve their bouquet? Looked online at several professional options way too pricey for me. Thx in advance

I’m having a professional do mine, silica to dry it and then having it encased in a resin block. Pricey, yes, but I have a feeling I’d spend just as much, if not more, on materials to practice on in the meantime so I know I’m not going to destroy my bouquet lol!

Because of the size of my bouquet I was quoted $450 which seemed crazy to me. So I guess we’ll see

Try Etsy! It's around $100-$200 for resin blocks depending on what you want and you only send them a handful of flowers from your bouquet instead of the entire thing so the size of your bouquet doesn't matter

Some people can make resin coaster sets with your bouquet. The person I am having preserve my bouquet can do ring holders for $40 or a coaster set for $80. The coaster set would show off more of your flowers

Yeah totally understand, mine is probably going to be close to $600 when it’s all said and done, it’s $425 for a block, and I’m also getting two necklaces made (one for my mom, one for myself), plus the gal I’m working with is trying to practice making ring holders and thinks she’ll be able to offer those by my wedding so I’ll get one of those, too. Plus shipping. I second the recommendations others have made about looking for smaller pieces that only use part of your bouquet like coasters or ring holders! Still a way to save a piece without breaking the bank Smiley smile
