Bouquet Toss.....ugh dreading it! But need song ideas..

am just like you, finds it stupid and silly to toss it, therefore I've came up with a cute game btween the girls and the winner will have the bouquet, this way gona be more fun.

I think we are going to do a bouquet pass, not a toss and there is no way my hamhock is going to be hanging out on the dance floor.

We're not doing the garter toss and the only reason we're doing the bouquet toss is because our florist is giving us a free toss bouquet. You don't have to do it if you don't want to!

Another idea instead of a bouquet toss thatI heard of a long time ago (and I think I've seen someone post about it on here but I can't remember who):

Ask all the married couples to come out to the dance floor. Then ask the couple who has been married for one day to sit down (obviously the bride and groom sit down). Next the couples who have been married 1 year or less, then 5 years, etc. until the couple who has been married the longest is the only couple on the dance floor. They are the ones who get to keep the bouquet. I think this is such a sweet idea.

Katie that sounds like the Anniversary dance. Only all the married couples dance and the DJ asks couples to leave the dance floor starting with the shortest marriage then the last couple dance (the longest married) gives the Bride and Groom their best marriage advice. We're doing this dance and can't wait to see who was married longest and what they'll have to say to us.

@ Cyndi - yes, that's it! When I first heard about it, it was as an alternative to doing a bouquet toss but I like the idea of getting marriage advice from the couple too! I think it's so cute!!

I am not a fan of the garter toss either. Im rather shy and really dont want FH's hands up my skirt in front of all of those people. I do like Katie R's idea though as far as an alternative to the bouquet toss.

Yeah I like the dance idea, that's cute. Except both my granpas have passed away, and I'm worried it would make my grandmothers feel bad. I think I just have to suck up the bouquet toss I was sort of thinking of a Spice Girls song maybe just because it's fun and silly. Idk....

Alina, that's the only reason I'm not doing the dance as well. I don't want any of our widowed grandparents to be sad. I think a spice girls song would be cute for the bouquet toss!

We used "Here's to Findin' a Good Man" by Danielle Peck for the bouquet toss and the Mission Impossible Theme Song for the garter toss.

PS, I did throw the bouquet "wrong," lol, I threw too high and it landed on the floor halfway between me and the group of girls, lol. My SIL made me re-do it. It wasn't a big deal though, we all just laughed about my severe lack of coordination and gracefulness ;P

@ Kristen i LOVE the idea of attaching gift cards etc to the bouquet and garter! I may have to use that :p

I loved my bouquet toss! I picked a song by Sugababes.. their music just makes me happy. Try not to throw the bouquet too high. If you're worried, you can practice. It's fun!

As for the garter toss, make sure the chair faces the side of the room, instead of direct at the audience.

We did "Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison. Can't go wrong there!

MT makes a good point about facing the chair to the side for the garter toss. You also want to make sure that the garter is just above your knee, so FS doesn't have to reach up too far. Here's a pic from ours, you can't see more of my leg than you'd be able to if I had worn a knee length dress.
