Bouquets- how many flowers

aec2003, on February 3, 2014 at 5:07 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

I'm thinking about ordering real touch flowers to DIY the bouquets. Can anyone tell me what the average amount of flower are in both the bridal bouquet & bridesmaid bouquets? I think I'm going to use mainly roses with a few other flowers thrown in maybe.. or would all roses look better? I haven't been able to find any coral real touch flowers so I'm either going to do all ivory or throw in some coral non-real touch flowers.

I don't think there's an average cuz so many different flowers can be used and one rose is not the same as one stem of baby's breath.

Typically the bridesmaids are just smaller than bride's with the same flowers or accent flowers.

    For round bouquets:

    6" Wide: About 6 to 7 Roses.

    7" Wide: About 7 to 9 Roses.

    8" Wide: About 9 to 12 Roses.

    9" Wide: About 13 to 16 Roses.

    10" Wide: About 16 to 18 Roses.

    11" Wide: About 18 to 20 Roses.

    12" Wide: About 20 to 23 Roses.

Generally, a bride's bouquet should be between 10" and 12" wide. I think 8" makes a nice size for a bridesmaids bouquet.

Thank you! Wow maybe it won't be that much cheaper to make them. I think real touch flowers at Hobby Lobby are about $6 each but hopefully could find a 50% sale. I was still thinking the bouquets would be less expensive. Has anyone made smaller bouquets & loved them.. do you have pictures?

Don't know your budget, nor how many are needed, but you could check Sam's Club online. You can get beautiful 75-125 roses for about $75-$120.

Mine is roughly 17-18 stems of real touch roses from Hobby Lobby. The trick is to not buy them individually (even half off, my bouquet would have cost $54!) but to buy the pre-made bouquets of stems when THEY are half off (so $20 each!) and then put yours together. I bought one pre-made bouquet in red, and one in white, some wired crystals, and then put my own together for about $45 total, and I LOVE it! It was super easy, looks good, and I don't have to worry about it later on! To keep the white roses from yellowing, I'm keeping it in a bag that still allows air to circulate, and keeping it out of the sunlight. It's about a 12" bouquet.

On a side note, they typically rotate the wedding and real touch flowers on half off sales every other week, so if the individual stems are on sale this week, next week it's likely that the pre-made arrangements (including the bouquets) will be on sale.
