Branch centerpieces with hanging votives!!!!

Bride2Be, on February 25, 2009 at 1:48 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

We already pick out the branches for the centerpieces (Mitsumata) and putting them together ourselves. What I am having a problem with is trying to find alot of cheap clear hanging votives to put on them. Has anyone done this before?? And where could we find them??

Pleae make sure you check with your wedding/reception site and verify that you are with in your area fire codes before you spend any more money. Most places will have height and flame regulations.

    Good luck and Congratulations.

Yes - you may be required to use a fireproofing material on your branches.

I got my hanging votives (CD4250 $27 a dozen) from Floral Supply Syndicate, but you need a busines license to purchse from them.

The other issue is securing the branches so they don't tip over, but still being able to get them to the site. I opted for a metal tree from cristalier.com - its fireproof & stands all by itsel, and it folds down flat for storage.

Here is how you make regular votives into hanging votives.

Then, if you have to, because of fire restrictions, just by the LED tea lights!

    Good luck!

I also used the directions from: http://nettletonhollow.blogspot.com/2008/02/diy-hanging-votive-holders.html

we got our votives from JoAnns with 50% off coupons. Make sure you get votive holders with a bit of a curved lip at the top so the wire doesn't slip.

A friend of mine wanted to do the same thing as you and she used the LED tea lights in little hanging nests. It ended up looking quite beautiful. Although I'm not much help as to where to find the little nests, she got hers through a florist. But I did want to reassure you that if real candles are not possible to do that LEDs are a very nice option and can still look elegant.

Try craigslist. I have been told that some people sell their stuff after their weddings...maybe you can find something there

We make our own with wire hangers and inexpensive votive holders and then just use a special clear votive insert that we get at our local wholesaler.

Where are you located? I have a bride who is making 80 clear glass hanging votive holders for her July 09 wedding to hang from branch centerpieces. She will be selling hers after the wedding. She found the votive holders (bell shaped) at Michaels but you can also find them at candles4less.com or other similar places.

Email me at *****@*************.*** if you want to discuss possibly buying the hanging votive holders from her.
