Are any of you ladies getting one done before your special day? I have an appointment tomorrow and I’m so nervous, first time waxer here! Also, I’m now ONE WEEK away from my wedding! Eeeeeeek!

To me, it felt more like an involuntary flinch than actual pain. And anything I did feel was over instantly, so there wasn’t any lasting pain.

This forum is everything I hoped it would be LOL. I have never had a Brazilian... been curious about it though! My best friend is my hair stylist and also does waxing. She's offered.... but I will never let her see my junk lol. It's too embarrassing! Not to mention, she's taken skin off my eyebrows before, so...

Anyways, I'm hoping to find this post again tomorrow to see how everything turned out for you Shanice! I would definitely be most nervous about the pain. If I can find a reputable place close to home, I might give it a shot as well!

I wax regularly, but go Brazilian for the summer months. Highly recommend eating a light meal and taking ibuprofen.

I agree. It's really not that bad. The type of wax makes a difference too. I've had one person use honey wax and another use hard wax. Personally, the honey wax hurt less in my opinion. The end results are definitely worth a few minutes of pain.

Also, no matter what anyone tells you DO NOT use a numbing cream. Take ibuprofen or Aleve.

Ahah ahah I am! Apparently my hair wasn’t long enough so I could only get a bikini and not the full Brazilian so that sucks 🙄 BUT it turned out to be free so I can’t complain! And the bikini wax didn’t hurt at all. I’ll be back in four weeks!

How far in advance did you book your appt? I booked at the same place for the 28th... hoping that's enough time. I don't like the jungle look.

I booked mine a couple of weeks ago! But you can even do a “walk-in.” I can’t believe my hair wasn’t long enough, But I guess they suggest not shaving for 4 weeks. I thought it was 2-3.

I’m not for my wedding because it’s not my fiancé preference. I’ve had them in the past. I’d ask your waxer about what to do to prevent ingrown hairs. I have a high pain tolerance and didn’t find it to hurt at all.

4 weeks! I thought it suggested 2 weeks on their website. I cannot go that long...

Exactly! That’s what I thought! Maybe everyone’s hair grows differently, Idk. I was certain my hair was long enough to wax, but it wasn’t. And she even tried, so I know she wasn’t bs’ing me. Kinda sucks, I worked myself up all week for it and was finally ready and I couldn’t get the full thing.

It's totally worth it. I definitely recommend taking an advil as the first time is the most painful. Exfoliate and it will decrease the chances of getting in grown hair. Good luck!

I get them every 4 weeks or so, the first one is the worst and they all get better after that. Maybe take some pain meds and have a glass of wine 30-60min before your appointment and just breathe. Honestly, they're not that bad, it's just the first one that is scary because of the unknowns.

Have you tried sugaring? It's way better than waxing for your skin and it can be done on much shorter hair. I will never go for waxing again after trying sugaring. Plus there's less chance for ingrown hairs.

Usually if you go in early, they have numbing cream you can apply to make it less painful. I'd also purchase an exfoliation glove to use after!

I honestly hadn't thought about it until reading this but I probably will. My hair is very thick and god blessed me with my dads hairy body hahaha If I shave I'll most likely be prickly by the end of the night and I deff don't want that for after wedding activities lol! So although I've only gotten one before I probably will just go and see if they'll wax my whole body
