Are any of you ladies getting one done before your special day? I have an appointment tomorrow and I’m so nervous, first time waxer here! Also, I’m now ONE WEEK away from my wedding! Eeeeeeek!

Yes I am getting mine done for the first time a week before my wedding. They usually give you first time "prep" instructions. Like for me they told me to exfoliate and shower the morning before hand and also not to have caffeine before the appointment as well because apparently it makes you more sensitive. Also they told me to load up on Ibuprofen to help with swelling in the aftermath. They also said it will hurt a bit the first time but the more regularly you do it, the better it gets. Also I did a bunch of research and looked at reviews before booking my appointment and if you get a good technician who knows what they are doing, it is supposed to hurt a lot less. I have looked at the reviews for my girl and there were a lot of "first time" reviews that had nothing but praise for her. So hopefully that will all work out and I end up liking her. Good luck tomorrow and try not to be nervous! Smiley smile

It is!! And it works like a charm! There are clear instructions for how to use it in the nether regions but it goes on well, doesn't run, and comes off easily. It definitely takes a good bit of consistent use over time but it works!

The first time will hurt a little. Just try to relax. If you go every 4 weeks or so then it hurts less and less each time.

My girl definitely recommends 4 weeks beforehand and they say your hair has to be at least the length of a grain of rice. Sounds like they need to correct that on their website!

Lauren, another great tip for your first time is stay very hydrated! That's why they recommend staying away from caffeine. The more hydrated you are, the less your skin pulls.

Yes! It's a great idea before the big day. I've got mine scheduled, only done it a handful of times but it's well worth it. Definitely don't forget the ibuprofen before your appointment, especially if it's your first time. Good luck and congratulations!

So I have another question for the ladies who have done this before. My stupid period seems to be scheduled for right around the same time as my appointment (give or take a few days). How have you all dealt with this in the past when trying to schedule appointments for a wax? I wanted to do it the week before so that it will be fresh. Smiley sad
