Breakfast brunch for dinner

Rosilus, on February 9, 2020 at 11:31 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 15

Hello all I am getting married on July 11. I was just curious because I have less than 20 guests (about 15 but they can count for more than 20 cause how they eat LOL). I wanted to have food catered but not too expensive.

Now my wedding is gonna be in the evening 7pm to 11 pm ceremony and reception at the same place. Also me and my FH is on a budget . Most of our stuff is already paid off so I wanted to know for such a small group I hear of people doing food trucks , pizza, which i dont want honestly but what I am wondering is if anyone has done a BREAKFAST for their reception or a brunch. I hear this is the cheapest food option and personally I would not have a problem with it but I wont have cereal or oatmeal LOL. So ladies let me know what you think

Mexican, Italian, and BBQ are also inexpensive dinner options, but I think that breakfast foods are fine as long as you’re providing substantial foods like quiches, breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, etc. and not just bagels and fruit.

I know but not for us and our guests doesnt eat alot of those things plus i have muslims attending no pork and food allergies of my own. I was thinking along the lines of eggs beef bacon, hash browns biscuits and gravy with turkey sausage. Not bagels at all but fruit cheese platters and nice apps.

I agree with other people that Mexican, Italian & BBQ are great cheap options. If you want breakfast, fried chicken & waffles are another great option to add to your other breakfast items.

Is 7 pm ok for your crowd?? My family & friends would die waiting for a 7:30 or 8 pm dinner. Actually, for our micro wedding of 15 guests we had three type 1 diabetics and my dad didn’t eat any or enough lunch and almost passed out after our ceremony... which ended at 4:30. 😳 The bartender saved the day with OJ but fortunately we got some appetizers in him soon after.

With some Champagne (or less expensive Prosecco) guests could have it plain, OJ for mimosas, or even juice like a peach purée for a Bellini. 😋

We are doing a breakfast reception complete with a pancake station! Our wedding is early an 11am ceremony. The catering is cheap for sure! We're also doing donuts instead of cake. We love breakfast any time of day

One of my friends got married in an industrial building in manhattan. she did family style brunch for her wedding. (the food was late so a little cold) but it was very good. i think its a cute fun idea! she had well over 100 people so i think it will work out well for you!

I've never heard of brunch being cheap necessarily, I have heard that BBQ or Mexican you can get for around $10 per person though.
