Breakfast for dinner reception

We are getting married at a normal time 4:30 or 5pm and are thinking of having a breakfast for dinner reception. Breakfast is our favorite meal and we personally do breakfast for dinner all the time. We are getting mixed reviews... thoughts?

I would just make sure there's ALL the options and lean towards more brunch so there are heartier options. Like someone said chicken and waffles, omelettes, pancakes or waffles, (I favor french toast as more elegant), country fried steak w/gravy or steak and eggs. I personally wouldn't feel satisfied with like muffins or pastry options on top of sweet pancakes at a wedding, especially if there will be cake after. So pulling on more savory ideas might be better. Also, I went to someone's brunch wedding and they had tater tots which were a big hit! Something small, but made everyone happy haha.

There will always be strong opinions around food but I say brace yourself for some unsolicited opinions and go for it. I wish I was more excited about our food! It's perfectly adequate but nothing fun and specific to us! Definitely take this chance to do something the reflects you guys and that you're excited for!

I....LOVE...THIS....IDEA!!! I went to a wedding once, at normal dinner time, and they served breakfast for dinner. I thought it was the NEATEST, different, most cost effective idea. I mean, who doesn't love breakfast for dinner? And it suited their couple personality so well. They had a large buffet AND a chef making omelets to order. I say GO FOR IT!! Just imagine the money you will save, lol. And it will be memorable, versus the normal wedding dinner food that everyone does. Sure you might get some naysayers, but you can't make everyone happy.

Could you do brunch instead, so you have some lunch & some breakfast options?

I'M doing a Sunday morning Viking Royal brunch at the local state park. It's so much cheaper than any of the traditional venues.
