Breakfast/Brunch Rehearsal dinner?

MrsR314, on November 18, 2017 at 3:54 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19

How do we feel about brunch or breakfast rehearsal prior to the rehearsal itself or after. Our wedding is on a sunday and there will be no time saturday for dinner since our rehearsal will most likely be on saturday morning or thursday. I'm looking into renting out the restaurant in the hotel I booked off for our rehearsal brunch/breakfast. Is brunch too informal? Will people be upset if we eat before the rehearsal? haha I know I'd be happy to be fed before haha

Thanks all!

I think that works fine. Our wedding is on a Sunday and we're probably going to do a rehearsal lunch the day before.

I think the rehearsal, if you even need one, should come first. Thursday is too early for a Sunday wedding; no one will remember anything and if you have OOT BP members, they may not even be here.

Most people don't even need one. Do a quick walk through on the day of the wedding, make sure your processional order is together and your music people have cues, and it'll be fine

Brunch is awesome all the time.

Definitely do the rehearsal itself beforehand. I agree with PP about when the food and drinks are enjoyed before, people's attention spans tend to shrink.

Why will there be no time Saturday? What would take priority over your wedding?

If you have OOT wedding party members, asking them to be in town for Thursday rehearsal is a bit much.

I love brunch but agree with others that you should do it first and then eat. And a Thursday rehearsal for a Sunday wedding is too much. I have a Thursday rehearsal for a Friday wedding that I'm in in a few weeks and it's causing some problems for some of the bridal party (of course no one is telling the bride) so I would avoid it.

If your BP is anything like mine, they would be asleep if we fed them before the wedding. I suggest having the RD before and then relaxing and eating later.

Brunch sounds great, but I'd rehearse first, especially if mimosas or bloody Mary's are happening

    Rehearsal first, then brunch.

Our wedding is on a Sunday and our rehearsal and dinner are on a Friday evening.

Your rehearsal brunch can be fornal or infornal. It's up to you

I'm doing a 1030 Saturday rehearsal with lunch immediately after for the same reason. My guests are fine with it.

I love that idea! I may put it in my back pocket to use myself.

My wedding is a Sunday as well. So I'm having an 11am rehearsal and then a luncheon to follow.

We're getting married on a Thursday night, so we will do a rehearsal on the Sunday prior to. And, yes, with folk's schedules - Sunday or Saturday brunch works followed by a rehearsal later in the day will work perfectly. Do whatever works for you.

I LOVE brunch and wanted to do this myself! We have a Saturday wedding, and it would have been fun to do rehearsal brunch, separate for girls getting nails done and guys going golfing or whatever, then meeting back up for the rehearsal on Friday night. We have our welcome party scheduled for Friday night as well, so I would have liked to spread the day out and have more time to relax and enjoy it. Oh well, not my decision!

Anyway, I'm with you. I can concentrate better when I'm fed, and I'd pick breakfast over dinner any day!
