Bridal Bouquet Traveling to Honeymoon?

LadyMonk, on August 14, 2014 at 3:44 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12

I'm having real flowers at my wedding in Alberta, and my mom suggested that I make a throwing bouquet and keep my real bouquet. We're leaving for our honeymoon in Grenada the night after the wedding, and my mom thought it might be possible for me to bring my bridal bouquet on the plane, to Grenada (for fun!).

Worse comes to worse, they'll conviscate it at customs, I guess (it says no import of fruit/vegetables, but doesn't say anything about flowers).

Just curious if anyone's ever brought flowers on a plane going somewhere, and what happened.

I'm confused as to why you would take it? are you wanting to keep it? I'm planning on saving mine and putting it in a shadow box.

I'd leave it home. Hung upside down to dry..

Nah, I'm not preserving it. I'd just take it because otherwise it would get tossed or left at home when we leave for our honeymoon the next day.

I mean, I guess I could hang it and keep it for a little while. Any specific reasons on why NOT to take it?

I'm with Kianna.. i don't get why you'd take it - it WILL get confiscated at customs.

I would think looking like a crazy person would be a reason not to take it. people will say oh cute you guys just got married....why is she still carrying her flowers, did they get married in the airport parking lot?

just my thoughts if i saw it on the plane.

Will it? Ok, then in that case I won't take it, then. I wasn't sure if they'd let it through.

I'm also making my own bouquet from costco flowers so I'm not extremely concerned about it being preserved (I can just make a new one...).

*sigh* scrap this idea. Thanks ladies!

In that case the only reason i could see to take it is if you are going for the "just married" look with the veil and everything else lol otherwise i dont think it would really make sense. but if you dont want to keep them why not just use your bridal as the throw bouquet instead of making an additional and save some extra $$$. I am always looking for ways to save money lol

Kianna -- Actually I was going to use my bridal as the toss, until my mom starting giving me all these random ideas... lol!!! But yeah... I'm NOT wearing a veil on the plane Smiley winking That would look extra crazy!!! This is why I have WW... To make sure that I don't look like a crazy person (even if I am).
