Bridal Fitting

I have my first fitting coming up in about 4 weeks, how was your experience? We’re you nervous, stressed, etc? Who all did you bring? I’m only having my mom, fmil and my Maid of Honor come with me so I don’t feel so pressured

Following because I'm curious as to what others have done too. I only brought my mom with me when I went dress shopping, and I know I need to have at least one person with me when I do the final fitting so they know how to bustle my dress, but just for convenience (my mom and MOH are 2 and 5 hours away, respectively) I might go by myself to the first fitting if that wouldn't be too weird...

I did my first fitting a little over a week ago! I was super excited and a little nervous. My seamstress is amazing and kept talking me through what she was doing. My dress should be done in about a month, and I can't wait to see it! I brought my mom, grandmother, and FMIL. I didn't feel pressured at all. My mom is paying for everything so I especially wanted her there. Smiley smile They're all super supportive and love my dress (even more now that it's going to fit properly)! My seamstress also kept talking about how much she loved my dress!

I had my first fitting mid-May, and I brought my mom along. I had lost about 10 lbs since my dress came in, so I was super nervous about the cost of taking it in, but it ended up being reasonable. The seamstress was foreign, so she was a little difficult to understand, but I told her everything I wanted done, and she started pinning away to give me an idea of what the dress would look like once altered. I have my second alterations' appointment next Friday!

Nope, not at all! My mom joined me at the first, but I have two more before the "final fitting", and I plan on attending those by myself.

I had my first fitting last month and brought my 2 sisters who are co-MOH. I have my next fitting this Sunday and will probably bring at least one of them for a second opinion and to take pictures. I am concerned because I’m pretty sure I’ve lost weight since the last fitting.

I had my first fitting 2 weeks ago and had my mom, my FMIL and my younger sister. I was definitely excited, but also a little nervous. Once we started though all the nerves went away! My seamstress was great and explained everything perfectly. She talked me through everything she was doing. It was helpful having the moms with me for input. Speak up if you have any questions/concerns/comments!! It’s YOUR dress, you want to feel your absolute best in it. Definitely bring your shoes and any undergarments you plan on wearing. At your last fitting, bring someone along to learn how to bustle your dress day of.

I had to go by myself, but honestly I was glad. No one putting pressure on me.

My first fitting for alterations is this Saturday! I am a little nervous because I haven't tried the dress on in a year since I bought it! I'm bringing my step mom, MOH, and one of my other bridesmaids.
