Bridal Flip Flops for entire wedding... opinion?

MRS_Mikec, on April 18, 2014 at 10:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 34

So here is the deal. FH and I are the exact same height. That means no heels for me. I am having a heck of a time finding anything I like. I stumbled upon this bridal flip flop I like a lot. I just can't make the decision on if I should wear it all day. My dress is long so no one is really going to see my feet anyway but IDK what to do.

I would do it! im in the same boat...FH and i are same height, nobody can see my shoes, my dress is a ball gown so im gonna trip and fall as it is...and i still got heels :-/ ha. i got the same shoes as my girls and their dress definitely needed heels. ohwell! i will honestly just wear them for pictures, then actually walk down in the flip flops that i bought that are the same color as my shoes. if shoes arent a big deal to you then just wear the sandals. i dont think you will regret it!

I also have a ballgown but FH is a foot taller than me lol. I went with heels for the ceremony so I could do the blue "I do" stickers, and get cute pics with my shoes, then I got flats for my reception. Wear whatever you want it is YOUR day, be comfortable!

I bought fancy heels. They made it through the ceremony and about 5 pictures. Then I kicked them off and went barefoot til I could get my flip flops. Go for the flops! You'll be SO much more comfortable!!

I ended up splurging on a headpiece so if I can get away with $35 shoes I am fine with it. Never been a shoe girl.

Pezzy I do agree but I can always kick them off if they get in the way.

I agree with Pezzy here you would be better off barefoot or a pair of flats.

But like you said you can always kick them off Smiley smile

    No.

No one will see them, but they will hear them.

Maybe some pretty strapped flats? I just can't imagine a hundreds-thousand(s) dollar dress with shoes that have foam for the bottoms. =/

    Flip flops make weird sounds.

I chose sandals that have a slight heel for the ceremony because the church has a lot of stairs and I am worried about tripping. I am not the most graceful! I also got pretty flip flops for the reception so I can be comfortable and dance. They are so cute!

I wouldn't want to hear the flip flop sound under your dress as you walk down the aisle.

My friend has the exact same problem, she chose to wear ballet flats for the ceremony and then opted for flip flops during the reception. I would have done the same thing in her situation, but what everyone has told me... it is YOUR wedding. And no one can tell you what or what not to do! You make it what you want to be, and it will be perfect either way!

For health reasons I can't wear heels for very long. I wore a small pair for the ceremony. Could not imagine wearing heels all night even if I could.

For the reception I bought a pair of sparkly ivory Toms. Everyone loves them and they felt great!!

Flip flops are okay but I would be thinking I hope they don't break while dancing.

I'm going barefoot for the ceremony and getting bridal flip flops for the reception. Even old Navy flip flops should last thru the night. I'm a Tampa girl. Iknow about flip flops.

I'm wearing t-strap sandals. Might be a little easier to move around in?

No, I would not wear flip flops. Find ballet shoes or a t-strap sandal. No flip flopping.

Could you wear some kind of flat shoe other than flip flops? BUT... like you said its under your dress, so if you want to wear them then go for it!!
