Bridal Foundation

Erin, on May 24, 2020 at 2:22 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 13
Hi All,

I hope you well! I was writing this today because I am curious what you all believe would be the best foundation to wear on your wedding day or what you all wore for foundation and what your thoughts are. I have done some research, but I am not exactly sure which one I should choose. I landed on a foundation that looked great, but made my face look shiny after a couple of hours so I have been trying out various different types. Any advice would be greatly appreciated (especially for my wallet).
Thank you for your help and I hope you all are healthy and safe!

I use Lancôme Teint idol 24 hour. (Spelling might be a bit off.)

Erin, it really depends on your skin type. I have very dry skin so alway look for a foundation that is moisturizing or for mature skin because those have everything I am looking for as well. I personally am going to wear Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundatuon in shade 00 or 01. It's the very lightest shade. Google ' Foundation for ______ skin' and see what you get. Charlotte Tilbury has a new transfer resistant formula, but it's not recommended for dry skin. Seen great reviews. Best of luck!!

Thank you for the recommendation, it's also on sale today (at Macy's if you're curious).

You are welcome!! My responses aren't posting! Hopefully this one will. Once social distancing is lessened, try having your wedding look done at a cosmetic counter, like Lancome or Charlotte Tilbury, in your local department store. That way a professional will help you pull your look together and they'll put it on you to see how you like it. It's usually "free" as long as you make a purchase of anything they have used.

I am a makeup Artist by profession and I would recommend you these brands. Fenty, it gives you full coverage matte finish and you only need a small amount... NARS, Estée Lauder, smash Box, MAC or Dior. Been doing bridal makeup for 9yrs

    Hi Victoria,

That is a great idea! I think that I will stop by a store and see how they would look/photograph. I do have some ideas for makeup looks so I will be sure to see how they look.

Perfect thanks for the makeup suggestions, I have been using makeup forever and I am not 100% sold on it. I recently switched from Bareminerals because I heard that SPF in foundation can cause your face to brighten during photos. I will look into those products and try some of them out.

    Thanks again, I appreciate it!

Try not to use makeup with too much SPF in it because it will make your face look ashy in pictures. As it relates to bridal makeup apply a little bit more foundation than you normally wear before the camera takes away 80% of the makeup on picture, I am sure you want to loook like you are wearing a little makeup on your wedding day

I've heard Armani Luminous Silk is good for weddings. I decided to splurge and try it out (was time to buy new foundation anyway). It looks very nice and natural (coverage is on the lighter side) and it held up well on the days I tested it out, but I'm honestly not sure it's worth the price tag. I've also heard Mac Face and Body is a good choice, but I've never used it myself.

So I normally wear the Lancome mentioned above and I love it.
However... Are you doing an outdoor wedding? Because if you're like me and doing an outdoor wedding, Don't forget to factor in your sunscreen! You should consider using a Matte foundation to allow for extra moisture from your sunscreen.
For Matte I really like the Loreal infallible Pro-matte foundation...

I actually never considered that, I am having an outdoor ceremony, so sunscreen would be a consideration. Thanks for the input and the recommendations.
