Bridal Hair

Hi guys. I am at a complete loss with how I should style my hair for my wedding. I have long hair, so my first thought was to do a messy curled updo. However, my dress is strapless and I’m not sure if I should leave it down and curled. Thoughts? I’ll attach a picture of my dress.

Ooo I am torn! I have always been a fan of down and curled, and you have such beautiful long hair, but I think it really makes your dress pop to have it off your shoulders!

I think I like it pulled back. It shows so much of the top of the dress. Maybe not a complete updo. But just pulled back or you could do half up, half down.

The first thing that ran through my head was to leave it down because you have absolutely gorgeous hair! But you really won't know until you do a trial. Schedule a trial updo and see how you feel!

How do you normally wear your hair? It might be nice to switch it up or go with the one that feels the most "you." Your hair looks really nice pulled back so you might be able to do some kind of fusion too! How do you picture yourself looking on your wedding day? Classy, sexy, princess-like?

I have really long hair like you and (I think) I will be keeping it down as well for a few reasons...trying to pin all my hair up will probably give me a headache by the end of the day Smiley xd , my FH loves my hair down, and it feels the most like me!

My hair was about your length when I got married and I did a messy updo with volume and lots of curls and a side braid integrated into the style

I vote updo! Your dress really stands out with your hair pulled back. Alternatively, you could do half pulled back so you could pull the hair in front or behind the shoulders for different looks. You look radiant either way!

What about half up half down? Best of both worlds!

My dress is also strapless, I think I want to do half down half up curled.

I say updo! My hair is super long too and I would want it out of my face. Plus it'll make your dress pop!!

Up is more bridal to me.
The curly down look that’s popular is pretty but it’s not formal/elegant.
So I think it depends on what look you are going for

You could do half back or something that is pulled into a low bun in the back to show off the dress!

I love #1 of you with your hair down. You have beautiful hair! I say at least 1/2 down. What about these:

Wearing hair vines (like #2) is quite the new bridal trend, with hair that is braided or tapered at the end. Does something like this strike your fancy:

If you want to show off the dress more, I would go for an updo.

I love up-dos and showing off a neckline, so I vote up. From your picture, with your hair down it covers a lot of the dress.

I would say try what makes you feel most confident . I love how Up dos look on many brides but I know that I feel most confident with my hair down (doing some strands picked up ) . Not going to try to change that feeling so that decision was made easy for me .

I really like your dress, i think the updo would be better at least for photos, ceremony and reception. And as the night progresses it becomes a messy bun, loose or whatever happens!

First of all, I love your dress!!! Second, I love your long hair and am SO JEALOUS! I’ve been growing my hair out for 4 years and it’s so weak it’s just not reaching the length I desperately want for my wedding next August. Anyways, I’m torn. I think updos are gorgeous, but your hair is so long and thick I think it would be a shame to hide it all in an updo! Plus, if it’s anyrhing like mine, it might be too heavy to stay all day comfortably. What about a braided style, side pony, or half up? I found a few inspo pics and attached them!

If you can, have the stylist do an updo for the ceremony that you can take down for the reception (or after the first dance, whenever). My hair is your length and I also have a strapless so that’s what I’m hoping to do. I can’t afford to keep the HMUA around once she’s done but I’m hoping she can do something I can easily let out by removing some bobby pins. Luckily my personal hairdresser is a guest so I may just throw her some cash to help if I need it haha
