Bridal Party Entrance

Andrea, on July 26, 2021 at 1:09 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

I have 6 bridesmaids & 2 MOHs; what are your thoughts on doing a group entrance to save time?

Bridesmaids walk in together, MOHs a walk in together, etc

We did this for a friends wedding and it worked well! We all went in together then they closed the doors and introduced the bride & groom. I actually liked it because I get awkward with the walk ins. I don’t know how it looks in video but I thought it was fun having everyone partying in the room together! I think they also did a general announcement like here’s the bridal party or something along those lines.

I really want to do it, some girls were excited and some were like that’s a lot of people walking in at once. I think will do it anyway. Now to pick songs which has been so hard!

We might do this because we are on a strict timeline for our sunset first dance. Go for it!

Do what works best for your timeline. The DJ will know how to do one by ones pretty quickly. If you are in a crunch for time definitely saves time but either way it won’t take as long as you think. It actually takes longer to corral your group for the actual entrance than it is when they walk in. During rehearsal I would set a specific meet time and meat place so that your group isn’t late. I would also tell your maids of honor to set an alarm on their phone and have someone in charge of bringing everybody together.

When we did it there were maybe 10-12 of us. We still lined up, but once we kinda got closer to the center of the dance floor we all kinda jumped around and did an entrance if that makes sense? It’s not like we were all huddled and running in together from the entryway.

Is this for the ceremony (walking down the aisle) or reception? There are so many ways you can do this!

Yeah that’s what we’re doing with our bridesmaids and groomsmen! The BMs will walk in together, but announcing their names separately. The groomsmen will walk in together, but announcing their names separately. I think it’s good way to have a good entrance for your people, but not have it drag out too long (like people entering themselves or in pairs) or too many songs.
