Bridal party entrance

Kyleigh, on November 2, 2017 at 11:09 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

When the bridal party enters the reception and the announcer is saying names, should she say last names or just first?

It kind of depends. My DJ is letting us choose how we want to be announced. We're just doing "Mr. and Mrs. ___" since I'm taking FH's last name

ETA: I'm an idiot and am assuming you're asking about your bridesmaids and groomsmen. I put first and last names on the list for the DJ, but if he tells me that he normally just does first, that's fine with me. I think either way is acceptable

Our DJ said he normally does full names, but occasionally does first only. It's really whatever you prefer

We did first and last names. It sounded better to us than just first or last name.

Yeah I like first and last names. Just make sure music is playing. Went to a wedding where the bride and groom didn't specify that and it was horribly awkward!

First only. Some announcers can really mangle last names.

We are doing first names and how they are associated with us like Michelle sister of the bride, Tony friend if the groom.

I'm almost always gone at this point, but the ones I've seen have always used both names without defining who they are except for parents.

First and last sounds better so that's what we plan to do

For your BP I would just do first names. We didn't do BP introductions so our DJ just announced us as "Mr. and Mrs. [First Name] and [First Name] Mack"

Our DJ highly suggested doing first and last when we give him our list. He says it sounds better especially since there are a few with the same first name. My MOH and I have the same first name and 2 GM have the same first name.
